1) Iona: grew up a Gael… went to every home game and most road games. It was a huge part of my childhood. 2) FAU: my hometown team. I’ve gotten to know the players and coaches, and have attended a bunch of games the past couple years. This is an absolutely great group of people, starting w Dusty. 3) K-State: gotta root for Key 4) Purdue: many coaches and basketball people have told me the same… Matt Painter is one of the true good guys. 5) TAMU: SEC, and I like how they play.
1) K state - Key and potential matchup with the pussy cats in rd 2 2) Illinois - Have fond childhood memories of Illini band, 2 cousins graduated, @GatorLurker, and they've been a fave for decades 3) UConn - took a flyer on them to win it all back in Dec Sidenote: The A&M/Penn St matchup is one of the most intriguing matchups of the first round.
1) Texas A&M- my former student (Dexter Dennis) plays for them 2) Bama- despite all that they are getting hammered for in the media, I still like this team 3) Gonzaga- Mark Few really deserves to win a title
A bit OFF TOPIC but for those with You-Tube TV (like me): Interesting way to watch the tourney this year: Get excited! You’re one of the select few who get to experience multiview. Watch up to 4 March Madness® games at the same time, on 1 TV screen.* Look for live multiview streams in your Top Picks for You section when you open the YouTube TV app on your TV.
Cant get excited if the Gators aren't in it so I guess I will go with Gonzaga to finally win it or maybe even Houston. I hate all things Bama. Lastly Im rooting for Key. I cant even root for Kansas State but I can root for him
if you are searching for a team to support… FAU. I can’t adequately express what a nice group of kids, and coaches. Definitely my favorite non-gators team ever.
Like you, I'm pulling for FAU and KSU. I typically pull for other SEC schools, but will be pulling against bama this year.
Exactly. We at least have the amazing stat of winning football, basketball and baseball titles. I am happy to remind Bama fans of an accomplishment they have not acheived.
Furman up on VA in the first half 57-54 with a few minutes left. Howard led KS 27-26 there for a minute.
I am cheering for Purdue because my wife has them winning it all with her money pool. I also like seeing a classic bigman play the game. Al Maguire called them aircraft carriers back in the day. Hoops has kind of gotten away from that.
