Just don't see how the Saturday game will get played. Weather Underground for Gainesville is showing rain starting around 2 am and going until around 11 pm. .66" for the day.

 

Perhaps someone might consider this as wafting around the bases.

 

I don't get what the SEC is waiting on. I checked their site and nothing, Gators nothing, twitter nothing. Maybe they are trying to wait until the last minute so there won't be many Gator fans in the crowd early Friday.

 

Question for the group—

Do they take the same EGO pills the umpires use?

 

My vote is they are given the injectable form and wear a patch.

NWS forecast discussion for Saturday is inconclusive:
"models diverge with the timing of the precipitation field for Saturday, with GFS pushing the precip. out of area much faster. Forecast is basically an average of the solutions, at least until models come into better agreement. So,
keeping precipitation in the forecast through Saturday into Saturday
night. Some model inconsistencies as to how far the front will move
off to the southeast..." The Powers that Be will likely wait another 24 to make a call.

 

I guess that means something lol
Sully stated Saturday was looking better so I think you're probably right they will hold off as long as they can.

 

2023 Baseball Cumulative Statistics - University of Alabama Athletics

Bama's weekend rotation has been Grayson Hitt, Ben Hess and Jacob McNairy. Hess has been the best of the 3 so far.
Their best pitcher seems to be Luke Holman, but he pitched 7 innings vs. South Alabama last night, so probably can only be used for a couple innings of relief, if that, on Friday or Saturday.

 

Updated NWS forecast discussion, seems a bit more definitive.
"Thunderstorm potential will begin overnight Friday into Saturday, and
last through Sunday morning as the front moves through Florida.
With a decent low level jet, some instability, and moist air,
isolated storms may become strong or severe, although the front is
expected to weaken as it moves into SE GA/NE FL." a bit more definitive.

Just wondering... If they play 2 on Fri will both be 9 inn or will they revert to old school 7 inn games?

 

If 2 on Friday. 9.. If on Sunday ?? depends on Bama schedule . Ive seen one 9 & one 7 on SEC Sundays in past.

 

Since Friday is not the travel day I would think they both go 9 if they start them on time.
