I know people are immune to this from him but as the leading candidate for the republican party, on stage, as part of his campaign he said he would use the federal government to usurp the local entities. Read on, or listen further below.

"You look at any democrat-run state, and it's just not the same. It does not work," Trump said. "You look at these cities, our great cities. New York City is a crime den. Chicago is a crime den. You look at these great cities, Los Angeles, San Francisco you look at what's happening to our country."

"We cannot let it happen any longer, and one of the other things I will do because you know you're not supposed to be involved in that. You have to be asked by the governor or the mayor to come in," Trump said. "The next time, I am not waiting."

"One of the things I did was, let them run it, and we're gonna show how bad a job they do," he said.

"Well, we did that. We don't have to wait any longer. We gotta get crime out of our cities," he said.

Not so much that no one notices, they either support it or are willing to enable it by looking the other way. All fine and dandy until they come for you.

This. It will be interesting to watch Trump and DeSantis out-Trump each other this cycle.

Why would anyone in Iowa give a cr@p about spending Federal dollars (ie, their tax money) to "fix" New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc...

Just fishing - searching for something to enrage enough Republicans to get the nomination and enough of the electorate in swing states to win the EC.

It’s amazing to me that people don’t get that both parties AND PEOPLE IN GENERAL have an authoritarian bent.

Democracy is a bunch of people wailing “There ought to be a law!”

I didn't bother to listen. Assuming, for the sake of discussion, that what he said actually was "full fascist" the reason "no one noticed" is because the American left has spent the last 60 years becoming the "Little Non-Binary who cried Fascist".

Lol... That "orange man" is going to give you nightmares for a while. :D;)

But at least we will be energy independent and have plenty of jobs to choose from.

First, I don't know if his latest rant with resonate with people or not. But if it does, it will because they don't realize that their tax dollars will be involved. It'd just be a matter "about time we slapped Democrat hellholes down.”

California and NY are the most successful states in the union, and the pretty much all the NE and the West Coast are highly successful, as well... if you want to see failure, look at Alabama, West Virginia, Mississippi ...

So let's play this cockamamie scheme out: troops and tanks roll into US cities at the command of the orange emperor. Then what? Occupation? Martial Law? camps? How do they respond when armed resistance starts to occur? Perhaps that is what the orange emperor wants. wtaf and smdh.
    carry on....

I have such a hard time believing that he's relevant in any way. Hasn't he lost enough Republicans to be considered a threat to the presidency?

As evidenced by the fact that the residents of NY and California pay more in taxes to the federal government than they receive in return. The reverse is true with a majority of the "red states". Speaking of being dependent on the Feds, support of federal subsidies for corn based ethanol is a winning position in Iowa while opposition do the subsidies is loser. Not good news for DeSantis since he opposed the wasteful subsidies back when he was a normal fiscally conservative Republican.

You should take a drive through rural NC or SC...well, on second thought, just take my word for it. He is still relevant to an awful lot of the Rebubli-ban party.

Until proven otherwise, he is still the de facto head of the gop.

Yep, in my corner of NC the trump/Pence yard signs are still up or have been replaced by trump 2024 signs. Have seen 0 DeSantis or Haley signs.
