I hate Ron DeSantis so much that people who are uncomfortable with Drag Queens and children are making a mountain out of a molehill.

 

It’s pretty clear that DeSantis’ “Courage to be free” is every bit as ironic as Trump’s “telling it like it is.”

 

I don't know enough to say whether it's manufactured or not. He recently appointed a guy to the Disney oversight board who reportedly described homosexuality as evil. It's possible that DeSantis has a religious objection to LGBT acceptance generally.

 

Is there any law being broken by Hyatt I wonder? I doubt it. What kind of business climate in America has the state government attacking it like this. Crazy.

 

Pro business, except for when they are not. For small government, except for when they are not. For personal liberty, except for when they are not. You get the idea.

 

I am not arguing that our Constitutional rights should be determined by polling data. I'm saying I think it makes political sense for DeSantis to focus on an issue like drag shows and kids given the public's trending support for LBGT acceptance more broadly.

 

I should add that @intimigator1 and I have made some peace over previous debates. Shook hands so to speak...I am just pointing out why he may be receiving the animosity that he is.

Call it as you wish. I dont feel entitled at all. I dont think ots a good look to attack him. Intimigator and I shook hands long ago and moved on. I am pointing out that others who were more targets of his attacks may not feel that way and i do wonder as I look back why no one on your side called those attacks out as "UnAmerican" or against his faith (which he has been open about as well).

But you are attempting to tell adults that they can't bring children to a show featuring people in drag that contains no nudity. Why? Because you disagree with their choices. Isn't freedom other parents getting to make the decision of whether or not they attend with their kids?

It's very hard to ban artistic expression. It's why these folks want to make it about children, when the reality is that children aren't allowed at the shows that actually feature nudity. At the less inappropriate shows, parents are given the choice, and these people hate the idea of parents having the choice to raise their kids differently.

It's not all that different than the trans debate. Make it about the kids to not seem as much like they're a bunch of Nazis when it's really about using the government to punish people they dislike/disagree with.

 

IMO, so long as nothing in the event was illegal, why is the venue penalized for the renter's production?

We make people put their kids in car seats and wear bike helmets. We do protect kids from the adults at times. Yes even their own parents.
