Inaccurate. "This poster" sent his family to the states while he closed their small resort intending to follow soon after. His flights were cancelled one after the other, narrowing his option to a single flight out on a Russian airline if it too, wasn't cancelled. But his credit was maxed out from the tickets he had purchased to send his wife and 2 children to the states and his own tickets for the cancelled flights. The outlay of funds for the cancelled flights had not yet been credited back to his account. He was despairing of his circumstances and generous hearted posters on this site offered a donation of funds that enabled him to purchase the tickets he needed to fly out on the Russian flight that connected somewhere in Europe to another that eventually got him home to the US. I'm guessing you and 51 did not contribute?

If y’all truly think “how dare you interfere with drag queens performing for our young children” is going to be a winning general election issue, you’re in for a surprise. If you wanted to be really cynical, one could hypothesize that staking out these positions is baiting liberals into going all in on defending far-fringe issues that next to no one agrees with them on, which makes it even easier to run against “liberalism gone mad.”
I think you are missing the point. The OP played nice and convinced many posters to PAY for his way home from Maldives back at the start of covid. Many jumped to his aid. Some of which he now has had some rather unflattering labels for since. I think 51's point is that if its so bad here, why was he begging for money to come home from there. I believe helping him and his family was noble, but I think he should remember that when making the blanket statements on this board he is known for making since. That is all I will say about the matter.

Do you think that the drag queens did anything more provocative than what you would see in lots of public displays?
