His recruiting wasn’t over the top but our receivers seemed to develop really well under his guidance. He has a good crop to start with and Lagway coming to help him recruit.
Gonzales has coached at Florida twice previously both in the same role he will fill for Napier. BREAKING NEWS : The Florida Gators have finalized their coaching staff with a new receivers coach
He’ll have our WRs blocking and running routes well. If I recall correctly, he had our WRs getting separation, in the past too. He was also recruiting coordinator at UF. Pretty sure he’s done a solid job at UF, all in all, during his time.

Great news! I looked and was pleasantly surprised to learn he’s only 51 years old. Lots of coaching left in the man
I always liked the dude. He got results. Familiar hire with a great resume. I wonder if these days coaches just rent? Man, they sure move around a lot. Ferentz, Paterno, Blobby were at their schools it seemed for decades-then again, head coaches, but still... Even Kirby was with Bamer forever. Good News. Better than I had expected! Go Gators
Crazy this will be the third time he has had the opportunity to coach Andre Debose. Hopefully he can turn him into a first rounder before his eligibility is gone.
I feel really good about this hire for several reasons. Glad CBN is hiring someone outside of his circle, glad it’s Billy Gonzalez and glad he likes Gainesville enough to return for a third time.
