    Of course there is apathy

    1. We aren’t very good
    2. Player movement reduces attachment between fans and players

    2 won’t change but 1 may

A blowout loss sure won’t help. We will surely be a dog on the road and not expected to win , but how we play could help for the rest of the year. I’m hoping to see some hope win or lose.

One out of five or six. Do the math. Getting the "right" coach is not a given. We can't go to the Right Coach Store and buy one...

It is premature to cay that item 2 will not change.

The coaches and the school admins could influence a change in item 2 by putting the players out front more. I know that there are limits on how much time student athletes can spend on these types of activities. However, an effort can be made by all of the parties. Since NIL's are a current topic, I am sure that Name, Image, and Likeness promos to build that valuable connection.

I’m ever said it was. I only said the right coach can turn a program around in a few years. Did you read my post?

I'm with ya. But we don't seem to pick right coaches very often, at least after SOS. What do we do? Keep going through them every three years until we find "The Right Coach?" Since 2000, Florida had seven head coaches, the most in P5, and perhaps FBS football. The pressure on a coaching staff at Florida is relentless.

Think about the top four coaches in the history of any program. There aren’t many greats to go around. There’s a lot of other factor$ that come into play besides X’s and O’s. I for one don’t think Saban is some kind of football genius. There’s way more to it than having a savant football mind.

Urbs is the only one we ever hired tgat was the hottest coach on the market that year or maybe that decade. We don’t go after the high priced sure fire guy often. USC, LSU, and we got a sun belt guy. I’m down with Napier and not knocking the hire. Kelly isn’t going to win multiple ships I don’t think but you never know.La has proven to be able to get top talent lately so I guess it could happen. Buying titles usually works the best in all sports. I’m still waiting on the Padres to win one with half the payroll or less. It could happen.

Loyalty is a two way street. Management has to demonstrate that they are doing everything in their power to have top notch facilities, hire great people, and generate excitement by having a winning program. IMO, blind loyalty is akin to stupidity.
After our last 2 nc's when we had the unfortunate incident with meyer leaving, management crapped the bed by taking the fanbase for granted. Terrible hires in Chump and Mac, lack of investing in facilities, and overall taking the program for granted. Apathy is to be expected after these pas 14+years.
I thought Mullen was a good hire, however i didn't expect him to check out. I guess with the way contracts are now for coaches, they can say screw it, get fired, and make millions. You need to have a coach who is driven by more than money.
CBN so far checks a lot of the boxes. I hope he is the one and at this point, i think he has a real good chance to be 'it'. All he has to do is start winning. If we start winning, apathy will not be an issue.

To compete for a national championship you need a top 5 quarterback, a top five recruiting class and a top 5 head coach. Currently Gators have checked none of those boxes. Hopefully CBN can turn this ship around.

Georgia just did it twice with only a top roster.

Kirby has gotten better with experience, imho. The real key is he has a top shelf staff, that he put together. All those top-5 recruiting classes stacked up there didn’t just show up on their own either. He and that staff are recruiting machines, an absolute must if you want to compete for and win championships.

Kirby is not a top 5 head coach? Yes, he inherited a strong program, but he took it to unprecedented levels (at least for Georgia). His record at Georgia is 81-15 (.844), better than any coach we ever had over that time span. As a head coach, he recruited and developed that roster, and he won two MNCs without a top 5 quarterback.

I guess that proves it but I just think there’s more to it than his coaching ability. How many coaches are capable of leading what’s going on there right now. I’d bet there’s more than five. Championships are the final ruling though.

We mainstays will always be here. I’m not as excited for the upcoming season as some seasons but I think that’s understandable. I have hope though.
