I really miss the Durham and Hunter threads. They used to be so specific about bombshells dropping on a random Tuesday at 8am only to pass the deadline with nary a peep of controversy. Sigh. The good ole days.

Machines, institutions and an entire valley of Silicon.
When asked to write a story about Hunter....,ChatGPT responded, “I cannot generate content that is designed to be inflammatory or biased.”

The Post’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop has been confirmed by Hunter himself, and is the basis of ongoing Department of Justice and congressional investigations. Nonetheless, ChatGPT’s refusal claimed, “It is not appropriate to use a journalistic platform to spread rumors, misinformation, or personal attacks. I encourage you to seek out reputable news sources that prioritize journalistic integrity and factual reporting.”

The "Twitter Files" revealed that an unholy alliance between the Democratic Party, the FBI , Big Tech, and the legacy media worked together to interfere in the 2020 presidential election. These powerful entities abused their power to achieve a common goal: the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story. The revelations about Twitter’s inside dealings expose a concerted effort to manipulate the free flow of information to voters ahead of a critical election.

Do you think it's really a conspiracy that lots of conservatives really believe, or are they just hammering it over and over because it's about the only thing they've got?
Do Jim Jordan and gang really thing getting to the bottom of Hunter's business is that high a priority to this country, or is it just an effort to dig up something, anything, that might help them hurt Biden and the Democrats?
    I'm going with the latter.

You're complaining that you cant use an AI to create an inflammatory story. Well. Ok. Start your own company AI that ONLY creates inflammatory stories... or ONLY creates right wing talking points. Im sure it will be the next big thing like TruthSocial is.

Well, at least "Republican politician says bad stuff about Democrats" is probably a bit more valid that Fox's usual "People on Twitter say bad stuff about Democrats" which appears to be it's most common theme.

Since it is apparent they aren't into actual governing, all they have are grievances, culture wars, and distractions.

whoa. What exactly is the crime we are looking for here? Did Joe Biden get money to do something illegal or get money illegally? Hunter trading on his dad's name at 1/1,000th the level of Kushner isnt really a story. There is nothing on Hunters alleged laptop that indicts the President's integrity. If it is we wouldnt be talking about damage control related to right wing lies about what was or was not on Hunters supposed laptop.

They really, really, really thought this was the smoking gun that would let Trump win in 2020. They were so trapped in their own media bubble that they didn't understand how fed up the electorate was with Trump and that a not-about-Joe Biden story could sink him.

After all the nonsense that helped Trump in 2016, the press and the electorate was on high alert for any, "the boy who cried wolf" stories about the Bidens and pre-prepared to ignore them, especially if presented by Rudy the Clown with hair dye running down his face.

Yep. Still upset that the Hunter laptop story didn't swing the election in the same way that the Hillary emails did.

From a committee chaired by Jim Jordan. Who would have thought? Yes, Hunter Biden Derangement Syndrome is real. Next thing is a reminder that Hunter may have received a gratuity from a Chinese businessman in 2018 to supposedly influence Old Joe. If my recollection is accurate in 2018 Donald Trump was in the White House and the Republicans controlled both the House and Senate. Maybe I do not understand the subtleties of government but how Joe could have influenced policy at the time is beyond me.

As a point of information David Weiss the US Attorney responsible for investigating and potentially prosecuting Hunter Biden is a Republican originally appointed by Donald Trump. Maybe not a special counsel but he's clearly independent and has no political agenda with respect to Hunter.

U.S. Attorney David Weiss has managed to stay out of the spotlight for much of his 20-year career as a federal prosecutor, but that might soon change. Weiss now finds himself overseeing the politically-charged investigation into Hunter Biden's possible tax violations and other aspects of his business dealings. The 66-year-old Weiss, a Republican, will have to decide whether there is sufficient evidence to seek a federal grand jury indictment against the son of a sitting president, Democrat Joseph Biden. "David is a straight shooter," said a former close associate of Weiss who spoke to CBS News on condition of anonymity.

Biden elected to keep Weiss in the position — one of the only Trump-appointed U.S. Attorneys to remain — because he understood the political risk of removing the prosecutor in the midst of an ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden's attorney has not responded to requests for comment.

Hunter Biden case could thrust low-key prosecutor into public spotlight
