I hope everyone is correct. Our returning WR room and depth is weak. We need an infusion of talent from true freshman that can immediately get in the rotation. Few of current WRs can get open in man coverage or find open zone and sit in it.

That’s what we thought when Franks was our qb and they were open every play for Trask. They don’t have to be running all alone to catch the ball.

Agree but I watched out games again and our offense regressed when we lost Shorter at WR. No one could fill his shoes last year and WR position seemingly lacked speed

Thankful for Ricky. But he should be our slowest WR. He should be our least talented receiver.

Weird. He caught a pass from Max Brown, but I read on here all during baseball camp about how Brown was on the baseball team and didn’t count as one of the qb’s in our qb room.

All of the stories likely means we won’t see him this year. Happens every year it seems.

lol true. Boooy speaking on getting sucked in about spring practice reports, Urban and UF use to sell us every year on how great Deonte Thompson was going to be lol. I fell for it for 3 years too lmao

Well Deonte did stick around in the NFL for about 7 seasons and was on a super bowl winning team so I'm not sure the reports from Urban on Deonte's potential were wrong. If you make an NFL roster you are football elite as there are so many that don't.

I don’t see much set in stone at WR outside of Piersall. Jean’s needed, brings advanced route running skills and enough size, strength and speed to have a great chance to be a big part of Florida’s passing game this fall.

while he made the NFL, he was used more as a returner than a WR. I'm speaking on what was expected out of him while he was at UF

No I get that it's just the part about the coaches saying he is going to be something special and it never happened....but the coaches weren't wrong because they probably saw his NFL level skills every day and expected him to bust out at UF.

and let me retract my statement and put some respect on his career because he had almost 100 career catches. Not shabby AT ALL for an undrafted WR

Since some believe this to paint to rosy of a picture for Jean I thought it would be a fun exercise to replace it with its opposite. Here goes.
Much of the Wr position is already set in stone. Jean’s not needed. He lacks advanced route running skills and enough size, strength and speed to have any chance to be a big part of Florida’s passing game this fall.

Is Jean what we thought Copeland was gonna be? Strong, physical, fast advanced route runner?

He sure seems to have his head on his shoulders a bit more but what do we really know about that?

Why??? like you would describe Cooper Kupp or Julian Edelman SHOULD be the slowest or least talented. Oh now I get it... ;) ;)
