I'm saying Affirmative Action today is not the same as Affirmative Action in the 1960s due to the racial and cultural landscape of the country.

I have repeatedly told you when that point is. You not liking my answer does not mean I didn't give you the answer. The answer is and remains when we've either eliminated or almost entirely eliminated race-based disparities, i.e., when we've achieved real equality of opportunity.

Incredible that you think after hundreds of years of slavery and nearly 100 years of Jim Crow, we're going to solve the problems created by all of that with less than 60 years of half-assed measures.

    1. Name one free and prosperous country in the history of the world that had no race-based disparities.
    2. What does equality of opportunity look like to you?

It's the same affirmative action. If it's racist now, it was racist then.

So Affirmative Action will be equally justified 300 years from now, provided that the US still exists 300 years from now?

I have no idea. But your argument is unserious. You're basically saying, "If I agree with it, it's not racist. If I disagree with it, it is racist."

I'm saying if we're at a point where we have equality of opportunity and equal rights under the law, then Affirmative Action is racist policy.

We did not have either of these things in the 1960s. The deciding factor as to whether it's racist policy now, is whether we have those things now.

That's one of the reasons I asked you what equality of opportunity looks like. Because if that means Bill Gates's son will not have an easier time in life than your average kid growing up in Liberty City, then we will never have equality of opportunity without some form of Marxism or compromising freedom.

Also, it's ironic that you of all people would be complaining about that definition of racism. :D

If the only issue was race Woodrow Wilson would indeed be a Republican today. Although the term wasn't used until 1948 over two decades after he passed away, there is little doubt that Wilson was a Dixiecrat. Based on his views on most other issues he would be a Democrat.
