Thank you so very, very much! May not have been seen by many as I’m not sure a corn and agricultural State would have that much interest but it excited me. I remember seeing it twice. Solid and hardworking folks in IOWA.

Ray, the movie had a special place for me because it’s about a guy following his dream and we saw it just before quitting my job, selling our house, and packing up three kids and moving to Belgium so I can go to graduate school. The movie character is following his dream and so was I.

Besides, I also thought it was a very good movie.

    Hey Ray-
Great to hear from you. It's also great you have some family around. Hopefully you guys are yucking it up a bit. Nice nurses are fine. Hot nurses are nice.

I guess we're all awaiting the Spring game. We get to see a little bit how these folks might pan out this season. Kind of excited about all that. While Gator Basketball is fun - I watched the last game and felt like I passed a peach pit!! So there's that! :eek:o_O:D

Good Lord is testing us all with patience.;)

Anyone bringing you any contraband? Some good Barbecue and beer?

Love ya, pal. Be well. We're all sending prayers.:)

    Go Gators.

Ray, I only saw this thread today, did not know you were in a rehab facility with fractured neck and going through so much pain. I do hope you are now feeling much better.

Though the pains we must suffer seem endless and unbearable when we are forced to endure them, they will end when your body is healed. But while pain yet clings to us like an unbearable stench, the suffering can teach us things we likely would not otherwise have an opportunity to learn. Pain is like a refiner's fire bringing opportunities to cultivate empathy for the suffering of others, forbearance and tolerance. Through our suffering we learn how to emerge victorious, grateful. Rejoicing we have not lost hope or faith, or been defeated, cast onto the rocky shores of despair.

Pain can be either be a cruel master or a teacher that brings insightful lessons to teach and guide us into being a better version of ourself, the person of faith we aspire to be. In its cruel but necessary tutelage we are empowered to become better people than we were before we were forced into learning how to endure the tests brought through our pain. What does not kill us can make us stronger if we look towards that goal.

Pain demands a reprioritizing of our life and our goals. It can be a character builder, a witness to our faith. Teaching us how to stretch out from the shackles keeping us focused on ourselves, where we may miss or neglect to offer words of encouragement to others who may also be enduring their own agonies invisible to us.

Keep and continue to share your faith, Ray. May God Bless You and Hold You in the Palm of His Hand.

Ray - just had my first “good” week in 6 months, where I felt good and like my old self. Give it time and prayer. And know others remember you in their prayers every day - even a rival Dawg fan.

One of my favorite movie clips of all time. People Will Come is like the Church of Baseball and the doors are open to all. It reminds me what can happen when someone steps out in faith that miracles can still happen. I hope this helps you thru your day Ray.

Thank so much for posting this, I appreciate it so very much. One of my favorite movies that I am so glad I watched it. Have not seen as many as I’m sure others probably have. There were a couple of scenes in that movie I really got emotional when I saw them. 2 near the end of the movie. One was the road along the side of that farmhouse. It was in the evening and you saw what seemed to be an endless line of cars that were coming into farm land, “If you build it they will come.” And the one near the end of the movie when the game was just over and all the players were walking off the field and disappeared into the cornfield near where the game was played….
