Racism against white people? You post nonsense like this and expect anything you post to be taken seriously?

    Corrected it for you.
As the South Democratic Party became less racist, the South became more Republican.

It's completely acceptable to be racist in the Democratic Party as long as it's against the right demographic or you're in the right demographic.

Perfectly acceptable to be completely racist against White people.

And it's acceptable to be anti-semitic provided that you're Black or Muslim.

You want your opinion to be the law of the land too.

I'm assuming you supported Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Those are legal protections on abortion, where SCOTUS effectively wrote those protections into the Constitution.

I stand by those posts. They aren’t just categorical non sensical insults or broad brush characterizations. They are each specific to the applicable posts addressed.

1950s Democratic Party: Endorsed preferential treatment on the basis of race.

2023 Democratic Party: Endorses preferential treatment on the basis of race.

FDR tolerated racism by the Southern Democrats because he needed their votes to achieve the near consensus necessary to enact his New Deal legislation. He also issued Executive Order 8802, which created the Fair Employment Practices Committee (FEPC), described by some commentators as the most important federal move in support of the rights of African Americans between Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Woodrow Wilson was a Southerner and a racist by any standards. He was also the most progressive president up until FDR. He supported banking regulation, the income tax, antitrust legislation, legislation prohibiting child labor (later ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court ) and workers compensation for federal employees and the 8-hour workday for railroad employees.

    You didn't answer the questions.

If the parties switched, would FDR and Woodrow Wilson be Republicans today or would they be Democrats?

I wouldn't consider it racist, but I suppose treating everyone equally could be construed as racist against whites in the context of historical privileges white people have had.

On the other hand, we know that the Republican party is the preferred political party of self-avowed white nationalists.

Now what does this have to do with abortion? I'm not really sure anymore.

Democrats support race being a factor in college admissions and job applications to benefit historically marginalized communities.

That is not treating everyone equalyl.

That is prejudicial treatment against groups characterized as historically privileged.

There's a burning building with 1,000 old people who have 24 hours to live and an infant in it. You can save one or the other, which one do you choose?

If you choose the infant, I don't think that gives you the right to wantonly kill grandma.

In this post, you are attempting to use life expectancy to explain the choice to save an infant. Given that embryos would have a higher life expectancy, what is the variable that makes each embryo worth less than the 5 year old?

Wilson was a racist so he'd fit right in with today's Republican party in that regard. As for FDR, he was popular among Black Americans because his social programs helped them and Republicans weren't doing anything to help them at the time. FDR also signed executive orders banning discriminatory hiring practices by the federal government. Then Truman ordered the desegregation of the federal workforce and military, which pissed off southern Democrats. And then LBJ with the CRA of 1964. And that's all a big reason why the White south is predominantly Republican now. I don't think it's the only reason, but it's a big one.

Since nobody wants to answer the questions, I'll answer it for you guys: Both Wilson and FDR would be Democrats.

But I'm glad you brought something up. FDR was popular amongst Black Americans, and this is despite being part of the party of the Dixiecrats. Black Americans started voting Democrat around this time, yet the South started consistently voting Republican in the 70s and 80s.

    "The Switch" is a myth.

The switch is a historical fact. White southerners switched from being predominantly Democrats to being predominantly Republicans. Democratic support (at the national level) for the Civil Rights movement was a big reason for this. This is basic history. Your denial of it does not change it.

That’s not what the switch is.

The switch is the party of racism switching from Democrats to Republicans.

Obviously voting patterns shift among certain parts of the country over time, nobody is disputing that.
