Nice play by Cags to get out 3. Also kudos to Riopelle for throwing out a runner at second and picking a guy off first. Big outs in a 1 run game.
Looked like he took a foul ball to the ding dong. Outfielders don’t always wear cups, so may have hurt a whole lot worse than it should have. He was still walking like his boys were up in his chest cavity a few innings later. I think he’ll be fine though. Be surprised if he’s not back tomorrow.
Yea Sully said after the game on the radio about Wyatt that it definitely wasn't a leg injury and he was feeling very uncomfortable, and that they should have probably taken him out an inning earlier. Hearing Sully made me wonder if they hold him out tomorrow. It might be interesting to see if he is sluggish taking a few swings at the plate.
What in the heck happened out there tonight? Oh a baseball game showed up on a really weird night. Sully sounded like he will be lighting some fires before tomorrow's game. If any of you are there keep track of the number of times that Sully walks in front of the players on the fence lime on his way back from the bathroom. I've seen this several times this year and he's checking to see who's ready to get out there.
Probably the biggest stat to remember from this really odd game was Florida 3, Siena 2, players ejected from the bullpen 1.
If one simply looks at hits, HRs, strikeouts, etc in the box score it looks like we should have won by about 9-1 or 9-2. But no, we somehow managed to keep Siena dogs alive. On a positive note, we knew their #1 pitcher was good and he lived up to it. Frankly, I am glad we "grinded" a win instead of playing 3 straight run rule games then facing a tough Bama team next weekend.
350— While I agree that it’s good to see the grit in our team, I could do without the sloppily played defense.
