If there were ever a weekend where the entire conference swept their weekend series… this could be that weekend.
Theyve been around a bit , probably one of better northeast teams actually. But no not good..lol Won a regional game in Fayetteville couple years ago. Currently 23 in rpi(230 spots higher than Siena.. ) Series win at Davidson and a 4 game split w/ Purdue so far. Got swept at NCST(#1 rpi) Im just glad ACC starts this weekend,, the SEC slate is rough..lol
Almost guarantee, would wager, they wont,,but agreed nothing very appealing MSU will be lucky to win series vs Lipscomb...by far best matchup for SEC team this weekend.. NJIT prob next biggest threat..Or SELA at AU,,rematch of regional opener last year.
Bama takes first loss of year 10-7 to Columbia.. Mac Gussette made last out w/ em loaded. Noles - Pitt tied at 2 in 12th Carrion walk off 1B for Noles... Former Gates all over my tvs tonight..lol
slang for Gators.. it means nothing, but I should of known..lol I also lol at Barners, Gumps etc,, which kinda do have meaning.. and here i thought i was giving my once a blue moon UF compliment..
Saturday scores posted. Must be weather coming in just north of us as State, Bama, GA, SC, and Auburn are all playing double headers today.
This did not fair so well over time. Bama lost twice. Georgia lost to CSU. Auburn is down 5-2 in the 7th. Plenty more chances for upsets tomorrow.
Sure. Hopefully plenty more upsets to come that don’t involve UF. I said “could”. Every SEC team would have been favored in every game this weekend… didn’t mean they would win them all. Bama especially getting a dose of reality after their joke of a non-conference early schedule. Georgia can EABOD.
0-4 is no good?? lol I predicted 1-3 when saw both were going to be a DH. Those never go well for AU for whatever reason historicaly. Baseball had/has 4-6 everyday starters out, pending the day, plus ace out still.. But the issue is pitching in general.. They have about a game & 1/2 worth of pitching(w/out ace), then its which FR do they run out there next. Allowed 1 run first 14 innings of series, 16 in last 13 innings Theyll end up in that 12-15 at best SEC win total as usual. Butch has best postseason win % in league,, just get in..lol Softball got 1 on road, all I ever expect in SEC play. And the 1 win has already locked up regional bid in this media darling confrence. Lucky to get that when best P in country(stats wise) only starts 1 of 3. Same as last year on pitching front, Penta or bust. Lowe still no where near same as FR year after surgey this off season. Michigan transfer is serviceable but not elite as they projected. Penta did close out game 1 win,, started game 3, gave up solo walk off hr in 10th on 120th pitch of game at 72 mph right down middle w/ 2 outs to Kearney(Uga best hitter) . Just walk her and keep playing..but ..Dean... Her ERA ballooned to 0.56 after rough start..lol.. Should be starting all 3 in SEC play(she can handle it physicaly). This will be Deans last year I predict. Hes a pitching coach, nothing more. Way to much talent(per recruiting ranks) on offense to not be better, despite leading nation in runs scored(vscrap) His Ps develop not his hitters Not a whole lot in SEC Ive seen that much worries me honestly. UGa probably best offense, if AU isnt(per stats) so it should get 'easier' from here.. At least after the trip to OKC to get routed by Sooners and NW . Hogs will win it again, then lose in Supers again(if vs non SEC),, an SEC tradition..
My prediction for SEC baseball now that Ive seen something to judge from.. UF & LSU will be 5 clear of rest of league. And dont play each other. I think it will be a offense heavy year, and those are clearly best 2 in that dept. Only true dominant ace potentials are also on both those teams.. Vols have a couple too, but they just seem off to me in general so far. (better this weekend lol) My sleeper team and maybe 3rd best offense is UGa. Kentucky and one of the Alabama teams will be the 2 that miss Hoover. (MSU a candidate also) NIL still in infant stages.. But w/out it AU would really be bad,, best healthy P and hitter would be in spring training somewhere..lol or at Vandy
Will be interesting to see how those predictions work out. No big surprises there, but usually there is an outlier somewhere. I will say if MSU misses Hoover and the NCAAs again they wil/should be looking for a new coach. Baseball is about all they have and that NC goodwill only goes so far.
My outlier was UGa.. but they were ranked by media pre season I think,, not that that means a thing. And yeah I feel confident in the uf/lsu guess. lol Seemingly easy picks as of now The bottom is tougher to pick..lol I looked at first few weeks slate ..AU and Bama most likely to be in hole early.. Both AT UF and ARk in first 3 weeks. Not sure on Hogs yet, but going there is almost guaranteed 2 losses at least, regardless of talent. Bama does get UK in between which should help.. AU gets UGa,, which wont help.. If AU 3-6 after first 9 ill be pleased.
