Yes I am the one who wrote when the water breaks and you better check what is coming out of the left. Not so much anyone on this board but if the left has its way, they would prefer no restrictions.
I am sorry, but if you are prolife, and believe life begins at conception or shortly thereafter the only way you stay true to your belief is near total elimination of abortion. I admit I do not know from a religious standpoint or a scientistic standpoint when it is still appropriate to kill what is growing inside a woman. I do firmly believe that medical reasons, rape, incest etc. exceptions should be legal. The debate a few pages back, and you agreed to the post, that at 12-13 weeks the woman loses her right to choose anymore. I don't care what the statistics say, that only like 5% of abortions are after that point, YOU are still in the camp of taking away that right of a woman to choose. If you are honest, we all believe that this is not merely a woman's choice debate. If that is all that it is, then by all means a woman can do what she wants just like a man can. But we know that is not the debate. the real debate is when do we as a society think it is appropriate to limit that choice. I think the majority of the country fall somewhere in the camp of 6-15 weeks. So, let's quit playing, it's her body her choice game and get to the real meat of abortion. The debate needs to be center around when does life begin and when is an abortion killing another human. If we get rid of all the hyperbolic name calling, that it what it comes down to. I don't believe we can ever get to a "known" that this when life begins. I think it is narrow minded to not respect folks that believe it is at conception and just as narrow minded to not respect those who think viability and those who think birth. Personally, I believe it sometime shortly after conception and viability so therefore, I could accept the 6 weeks, but I could also be satisfied with first trimester (12-13 weeks). I believe that vast majority of the country falls into this category.

Personal attack aside, some people fall for the Nigerian prince e-mail and lose their money to scammers. Others go to church.

LOL. So all people who attend church are idiots. Got it. Thanks for confirming your idiocy to everyone. Didn't take long for you to basically admit it.

Did I call church goers idiots, or did you just assume that’s what I meant? Not that it matters but going to a church for adoption purposes is like buying shrimp from the trunk of a car. They don’t care if the shrimp is bad, or who they sell it to as long as they get their money.

Churches need to stick to helping people find salvation, which some are doing a poor job at, rather than dabbling in politics and selling newborns IMHO.

Yeah, that could be. I know there are a couple people that blocked me on the football side and occasionally their posts will show up empty but I can read the content by quoting it (you can always see blocked posts if using tapatalk but I don’t think there’s a rating option in the app).

You got called out for what you implied. It's ok. Just own up to it. You look even more foolish now trying to backtrack.

Is that what you call being called out? I’d call it a hissy fit.

What is deplorable is telling women what they can and can’t do with their bodies and making health decisions for them. Do what you want to do with your family and leave my family out of it.

You had a nice post yesterday that I found informative. You left out the smugness in that post about abortion.
Today you’re right back at it. 95 is right, you backed yourself into a corner because you act like you are the only expert with experience on the topic. Then you crap all over Christians.

Another one falling for the Fox "News" nonsense or just making stuff up as they go along. Find any reputable polling that shows anything close to a double digit number of pro-choice advocates who favor abortion up until the time of birth absent a very compelling medical issue. Roe didn't allow for it and sensible, pro-choice people would not be in favor of it.

That is the problem with you people. You have to go out and find the most outlandish, extreme statements favored by a statistically insignificant few to justify your draconian positions. I personally don't give a rat's ass when you think life starts or when you think a woman should or shouldn't be allowed to have an abortion. Your opinion is not going to impact my decision making process at all, I am both more educated and intelligent than you.

"The debate a few pages back, and you agreed to the post, that at 12-13 weeks the woman loses her right to choose anymore." You misstated my position. I stated first trimester would be a reasonable compromise. The majority of Americans are pro-choice, but because Trump, who had more people vote against him than voted for him TWICE, got to appoint 3 justices, all of whom lied during their confirmation hearings, to SCOTUS Roe was overturned.

Do you understand when the six weeks you advocate for starts? Day one is the first day of the woman's last period. How many women do you believe actually get impregnated on the first day of their period? I bet it's way closer to 0% than 5%. In reality, your six weeks is giving a woman less than four to discover and confirm she is pregnant, make a decision as to what she wants to do and then make those arrangements both in terms of scheduling and finances. North Carolina's law is 20 weeks 6 days. Soon North Carolina will be the nearest point of civilization for Floridians on this issue.

It will now be incumbent upon the people to amend their state constitutions to protect a woman's right to chose. For example, Florida's Republican controlled legislature is never going to do as the majority of Floridians want and protect the right to an abortion, at least not for the foreseeable future. Given the way our legislature tried to thwart the will of the people expressed in the medical marijuana and restoration of voting rights amendments, the abortion rights amendment will have to be worded very carefully and very precisely. Roe's balancing test language would not survive their infernal meddling, so it's going to have to be something so simple and straightforward even the idiots in Tallahassee can't screw with it. That suggests a hard timeline, hence my compromise suggestion of the first trimester. I know Florida has a privacy amendment and I am cognizant of their prior rulings, but I have very little confidence that a Florida Supreme Court now packed with DeSantis' justices will properly apply that amendment to these overly restrictive laws.

Even that restrictive a time frame will not be acceptable to these extreme religious fanatics who apparently believe they have the right to impose their views and will on everything from what books should be on library shelves, to when life begins, to whether contraception should be legal/available, to what sex acts should be allowed between consenting adults, to whether those consenting adults should have to be married first, to who can marry whom, to whether abortion should be legal, to whether a parent can take their children to a book reading by someone in drag, to whether I should be allowed to have access to porn and on and on ad infinitum.

Those churches give every other Christian church a bad name and are turning Americans off to organized religion in droves. That is a shame. I can't even imagine what must go in their services. I am a baptized and confirmed Episcopalian and I can not remember a single service where ANY of those above topics came up (thank God,) but now every Christian church is lumped into the same group as those fringe churches.

The Republicans empowered them because the Republicans needed their votes and now reasonable people from both parties are going to have to get this under control. A minority of religious zealots should not have anywhere remotely close to that much control over how the majority conducts their lives.

Oh yeah sure. He threw an hissy fit just like you’re doing now. My belief is organized religion is a con game and has been a couple of thousand years when the church was selling chicken bones as religious artifacts. They’re still always looking for some way to scam people out of their hard earned money by selling books, videos, tapes, and even children. Don’t even try to say it doesn’t happen.

As far as me being backed into a corner goes I’m still laughing. You’re just triggered looking for anything to strike out against, and if you can’t find something then you fabricate it. Now go stand in the corner and think about it young man.[IMG]

    WOW!!!!!!
Look at the big brain on Bob!!
First, reading comprehension may help a little.
And who in the hell do you think you are to say you are more educated or intelligent than myself.
I wrote a post about compromise with no name calling but big brain resorts to it immediately.
No need to have an opinion, I'll wait for big brain to tell me how to think.
Just like 90% of you smart ass liberals on this board. You want to know why this whole forum sounds like an echo chamber, read the liberal dribble and attacks.
I will not be returning to the shit hole again!!
