Some would, some wouldn’t. While I prefer viability as a cut off, I think 15 weeks is workable. My biggest issue with 15 weeks is that the exceptions are too tight and the laws are worded such that doctors may be hesitant to give proper miscarriage treatment.

Europe mostly has 13-15 weeks but they are much more liberal in the exceptions.

I wish people would look big picture. There are about 40 million abortions per year world wide. If one truly care about the unborn, I would assume they’d care not just about American unborn. If they oppose the less than 1 million US annual abortions I assume they oppose the other 39 million worldwide.

So does anybody really think we would be better off with an additional 40 million annual births world wide? That would be another billion over 25 years.

I really have an issue with the idea that you need a cutoff date at all (the idea that people want abortions right before birth unless its an emergency seems like a made up fear to argue for restrictions, and I dont think a doctor would necessarily perform it either, just like a doctor wont remove my gall bladder just because I want it gone either), but if there are liberal exceptions I have less of an issue.

The only red tape is that they want the child to go to a secure and safe home environment with parents who aren’t pedophiles, drug users, and living in a van. It’s really pretty easy to adopt an un-adoptable child in Florida. It’s as easy as adopting a pet, and the state will pay for mental and physical treatments the child may need. I don’t see how they can make it any easier.

The picture in post 327 (bottom one) answers that question perfectly. That picture made me get misty eyed and is one of the most depressing things I've ever seen. Years ago a photographer won an award for a pic of a buzzard sitting patiently by a toddler that was starving. Both pics are beyond sad and are burned in my memory forever. Just heartbreaking to think of this poor child X 40 million. The suffering is beyond cruel.

    Did I make that argument?

PS good to see others make typos. I wonder when the grammar police will sho up and ticket you. :)

Medically we use the FDLMP as the start date of the gestation, then US is done, typically a first trimester US has a +/- 1 week accuracy, 2nd Trimester is +/- 2 week accuracy for judging gestational age.
Obviously the accuracy may vary based on the skill of the tech and the general health of the mother among other factors.

Sorry man my church has a very strong foster care/ adoption group. The majority of the adopted kids are far from perfect.
You may be speaking of things you don’t know about.

The grammar police are far more likely to "sho" up when the poster is calling someone else stupid or ignorant, but exceptions can be made. ;)

Being an adoptive parent of two children considered un-adoptable I’d say I know quite a bit. Further, I’ve found churches can be some of the worst at finding suitable parents, so you need to sit down and keep your condescending attitude to yourself.

Yeah because you’re the end all authority on all churches and all adoptive parents.

You’re the one with the condescending attitude through this thread man.

Going off your sig all of this is admittedly just “your opinion”….

Seems like the grammar police pick and choose when to show up.

I’ve found it’s often when they don’t have a link to support their claim or no other rebuttal.

FYI, you need to go to your profile page to the “people you block” page and click the check box to totally block someone. Otherwise they can still read your posts.

I looked and the "block above member(s) totally" box is checked and the box turned blue. I'm pretty sure it is a glitch as it only happens occasionally and he usually hits most of my posts.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

Oh man, You are awesome for adopting kids who were un-adoptable. Glad you know what every church in the world does. Way to make yourself sound like a complete fool. I don't even have to make a joke about it. You provided all the fodder.
