I’m afraid a National divorce is more likely than ever since 1865.
I see more of a Balkanization happening. Maybe not in my lifetime, but in the next 100 years.

the confessions continue to flow. think Fox will cover this? disappointed they are letting her keep her license especially after she went on twitter and claimed she didn't know they were lies

Trump Lawyer Admits to Falsehoods in 2020 Fraud Claims (msn.com)

Jenna Ellis, a lawyer who represented President Donald J. Trump after his loss in the 2020 election, admitted in a sworn statement released on Wednesday that she had knowingly misrepresented the facts in several of her public claims that widespread voting fraud led to Mr. Trump’s defeat. The admissions by Ms. Ellis were part of an agreement to accept public censure and settle disciplinary measures brought against her by state bar officials in Colorado, her home state. Last year, the officials opened an investigation of Ms. Ellis after a complaint from the 65 Project, a bipartisan legal watchdog group. The group accused her of professional misconduct in her efforts to help Mr. Trump promote his claims of voting fraud and undertake “a concerted effort to overturn the legitimate 2020 presidential election results.”

According to the statement, some of Ms. Ellis’s lies about election fraud were made during appearances on Fox News, several of whose top hosts and executives were recently shown to have disparaged Mr. Trump’s fraud claims in private even though they supported them in public. The revelations about these discrepancies have emerged in a series of court filings by Dominion Voting Systems, a voting-machine company that filed a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox for promoting a conspiracy theory about its role in the election results.

Ms. Ellis, part of the so-called elite strike force of lawyers that took to the air and traveled across the country in support of Mr. Trump’s false claims of fraud, is also embroiled in the Justice Department’s investigation of the former president’s sprawling efforts to reverse his loss to Joseph R. Biden Jr. As part of the investigation — which was taken over in November by a special counsel, Jack Smith — dozens of grand jury subpoenas have been issued, many of which have requested information about Ms. Ellis.

In a message posted on Twitter Thursday morning, Ms. Ellis sought to split hairs concerning her agreement with officials in Colorado, saying that she never admitted to lying about election fraud, which she asserted “requires INTENTIONALLY making a false statement.

Amazing how many of Trump's lawyers ended up needing lawyers. Definitely one area Trump can actually claim job growth in.

So knowingly misrepresenting the facts isn’t lying.
And we wonder how these idiots got here.

Maybe Colorado should consider the Twitter post a retraction of her agreed upon settlement? It was a sworn statement. Doesn’t sound like she’s genuine or remorseful.

Prosecutors Signal Criminal Charges for Trump Are Likely

[COLOR=var(--color-content-secondary,#363636)]The Manhattan district attorney’s office recently signaled to Donald J. Trump’s lawyers that he could face criminal charges for his role in the payment of hush money to a porn star, the strongest indication yet that prosecutors are nearing an indictment of the former president, according to four people with knowledge of the matter.
The prosecutors offered Mr. Trump the chance to testify next week before the grand jury that has been hearing evidence in the potential case, the people said. Such offers almost always indicate an indictment is close; it would be unusual for the district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, to notify a potential defendant without ultimately seeking charges against him.

Woo Hoo! And that’s just in Manhattan. Georgia is also certain and how knows what the DOJ is kicking of treason around though they may conclude the the other 2 have him by the short hair and use it as an excuse not to indite him

edit he’s also got the defamation case related to his rape (he’ll have to give a dna sample and the NY AG

love it! Lock him up! With any luck he’ll die in jail. I think we all can agree that would be the best outcome.

Ironically if Trump is indicted MAGA nation will rally around him. Rather than torpedoing his presidential campaign one or more indictments could turbocharge his run for the Republican nomination. What better way to fight the "deep state" responsible for both the prosecution and persecution of their Dear Leader than to spit in their faces by giving him the nomination. The man thrives on victimhood and at least until is (hopefully) convicted an indictment would be a real gift to the Orange One.

On a positive note, Trump has promised Freedom Cities and flying cars if he's reelected.

Additionally no big money donors are supporting him it’s all going to DeSatan eventually most of the shitheads will follow.

$8M "loan" that kept Trump media afloat (67% of cash on hand) came from Russian oligarch directly tied to Putin. stupid american, that is not a loan, that is kompromat. And the execs', including Jr., knew the source and decided to keep it anyway.

Trump Media auditor and business partner go silent as Russia money laundering probe revealed (msn.com)

Top executives at Donald Trump's social media raised concerns about the loans from Paxum Bank and ES Family Trust, which both are linked to an ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin, and it remains unclear whether the SEC-licensed broker-dealer who sourced the loans or auditor BF Borders completed any due diligence under anti-money laundering and “Know Your Customer” requirements, reported The Guardian.

"A person who picked up the phone at BF Borgers this week put a reporter seeking comment on hold until the line disconnected," the newspaper's Hugo Lowell reported. "On a subsequent call, the person said they would pass the request on to managing partner Ben Borgers."

The payments came as Trump Media, which owns the Trump Social platform, was running out of money in December 2021 and February 2022 as its planned merger with the blank check company DWAC was halted by an SEC investigation, and top executives at the fledgling tech company were so concerned about the origins of the loans they considered returning the money.

However, according to Trump Media co-founder turned whistleblower Will Wilkerson, chief financial officer Phillip Juhan ultimately decided not to return the money because giving up $8 million of the roughly $12 million of cash they had on hand would have put the company in a precarious position.

Donald Trump Jr. personally approved sketchy loan now being probed as Russian money laundering - Raw Story - Celebrating 19 Years of Independent Journalism

A pair of sketchy loans to Trump Media now under investigation for possible Russian money laundering were personally approved by Donald Trump Jr.

Federal prosecutors in New York are scrutinizing two loans totaling $8 million from two Kremlin-linked entities, and company officials set aside their own concerns about the origins of the money because Donald Trump's eldest son had confirmed to Trump Media's lawyers that the transaction should proceed, reported The Guardian.

“Just want to keep you in the loop — no guaranty that these will get signed and funded, but we remain hopeful,” wrote John Haley, outside counsel for Trump Media, in a Dec. 24, 2021, email reviewed by the newspaper.

“Thanks john much appreciated. d,” Trump Jr. replied.

“I’ve never done business with Russia”, said the guy *still* doing business with Russian Oligarchs (who coincidentally just called for Ukraine’s complete surrender). Nothing to see here guys. Just another witch-hunt.

Agree with current state. But if we make it 10-15 years the risk of a split will drop. maga is a big driver for the split and a predominant group of maga is older and white. as they age, younger generations will become more influential and the risk will diminish. also minority groups will continue to make up a larger percentage of the population. Obviously we currently see younger right wing radical groups that would support a “divorce” (PB, the boogaloo) but without maga’s influence in keeping it in focus, those younger groups will become fringe again instead of front and center.
For example, a majority of those arrested on jan 6th were in their 40s, 50s, & 60s. In another 15 years, with many in their 60s and even 70s, that group doesn’t storm the capital, riot and club LEOs.

In 15 years we’ll have a whole new slew of problems we can’t predict, but to be discussed in another thread…..

I guess Jack Smith can pack up his things and shut down the office because God is now trump’s defense attorney.
