He won't be defending the opposing 5 next year. He is a stretch 4 if I have ever seen one. If he learns to drive the ball off the dribble he will be a Matt Bonner lite.
I am proud at how our Gators never gave up, even without their leader CC, they still fought and came back to tie it and go to OT, almost won ...Can we improve and do better..yes..and I believe in Coach Golden..he will get this turned around...in a week or two..he will have been with us a full year...some have forgotten he came in after his former team played in the NCAA...I think we will get into the NIT..maybe win a game or 2...
We played hard. Gotta be happy with the effort. I wish we would’ve fouled instead of giving up the layup though. Make them earn it at the line. Overall though, we put everything out there and I’m proud of that.
I'm not sure there was enough time to get into the lane. Like when Cheese hit his great shot, 4.3 seconds generally equals 4 dribbles.
Portal will be everything. There's plenty of talent. I'm willing to bet TG will work harder because he has a year under his belt and has a better feel for the SEC. He knows what he needs and should be very confident. Deservedly so. I'm hyped.
Easily win this game going away with CC but like I saie in another thread, we are already a tournament team with him. If MSU can get in, we would've been in. We needed 3 more wins and I believe we get that with him. I have no doubt.
Right now, neither of the 2 recruits for next season are noteworthy. Will be lucky to get 5-10 min a game. Might have to hope we are able snag a late '23 signee. It will essentially come down to what we get out of the portal.
Reeves was called for two offensive fouls. On the first one the defender was clearly moving to his left before contact. On the second one there was a small movement by the defender to the defender's right before contact so I can see it going against him but technically it should have been a blocking foul. Close call. Does Reeves have some agenda with the refs?
Well, I am willing to give these young men a chance...they haven't played a minute in a game yet...we had a couple that were all world in the past, and they didn't live up to everyone's expectations..so I prefer to wait and see how they develop and play before already judging them and calculating their playing minutes before they step foot on campus.
Alek played better defense and hit a three that Jitiboh and Fudge can’t do. he was the best we had to defend Tulu Smith. He was fighting and banging down low, what a beautiful sight. That is why he played most of the second half at Center. He will get stronger, add some weight and find places where he can score inside and out!
Agree The real chance was at the end of regulation- 11 sec left , plenty of time , Lofton falls down and we’re left with a low percentage shot
I was volunteering in the Bridgestone arena today, in the champions lounge. Many fans from Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vandy, Alabama, Auburn fans and four or five Gators fans. in overtime, everybody in the VIP booth were cheering for Florida! Fyi
I think he has the skills and strength to be a solid SEC player next year. His defense against Tolu showed he's already improved since he got pressed into service.
