As was pointed out that’s not my quote. That is Desantis lawyer. Take it up with the Governor. Why the dislike?
But, this is another situation in which the left and right speak right by one another. R's aren't misusing the word, except in the Pavlovian reaction to just attaching it to anything they don't like, which is essentially all of life except for that absurdly tiny list of "acceptable" behaviors, most of which are from their Only Book. They do not want anyone to believe there is systemic racism, they want it to be seen as (an incredibly consistent and extensive list of) isolated incidents by unconnected individuals and therefore cannot be addressed. IOW, I believe they are typically using it properly. Their issue is that racism can never be acknowledged as being planned and/or implemented, or a shared sentiment. It must always remain multitudes of magically unconnected individual actions by rogue actors, with no pattern. Even though those actions are in the same institutions, the same policies, the same attitudes, grievances, and actions, and by the same general profile. IOW, plainly recognizable patterns and intent, by predictable parties. What most sane people call "systemic." And find not only addressable, but the morally correct choice to embrace. The left, as per usual, plays by the rules imposed upon them. They are now scared of using the term that describes one of society's greatest ills, and the ill that their opponents embrace, openly, through uncommonly direct messaging and ever more brazen enacted policy at every level. D's ability to find a way out of any advantageous happenstance is pretty remarkable.
I was not aware that it came from desantis lawyer. Dislike retracted. I probably should refrain from rating this stuff while driving.
So much consistent dumbassery comes from the libbies, yes I do have a reflex to dismiss. But unlike many…I owned up to my mistake admitted so and took back the dislike.
Question for YOU: hmmm - WHOSE criminal behavior? The POLICE?? You can abide the cops murdering people of color or a different ethnicity? I am for law and order as well, but not the kind so commonly typified in Minnesota, Missouri, NY and all over the county. A "badge" does not entitle a cop to shoot down any "stop" where the police do not feel they are given proper deference. (or in my language, kissing their ass) And don't come at me with some B.S. about (I don't) know what I am talking about, I have been threatned, by two different sheriffs "deputies" with MURDER because a friend of mine poured a jack and coke at New Smyrna beach.
Cool O&B - I like you to. I like all gators irregardless of political affiliation. Just got a little fired up on this one. I'm not kidding, I had not one but two (2) Volusia county sheriffs deputies threaten to shoot me, multiple times. For NOTHING. It still rankles me.
I was cuffed and thrown in the back of a police wagon outside a bar one night in Orlando. I wasn’t a threat and did nothing wrong. I spent the night in some holding cell. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about it. I don’t think police are racist assholes. They are mostly exactly what you get when you pay them basically a teachers salary. We get the same problems in schools too. We’re attracting too many lower quality people to do very important jobs. I did not say all, but enough bad ones to make headlines.
What's wrong with letting violent criminals back out on to the streets without bail... so they and do another violent crime. This is the crux of these Woke people's angst. What they really want is to get out of jail free for anything they might do illegally. They do NOT want to abide by any of our laws, and will cry foul when so many of these woke jokers go to jail for criminal/violent behavior.
Idk, it's probably better to focus on teaching real subjects than how to participate in the fantasy world of the mentally ill, but we can agree to disagree, I guess you're happy with the state of us education.
What? You're conflating completely different things. One's gender identity is not the same thing as their sexual orientation. (And odds are your teachers' talked in some manner about their "sexual preferences" when you were in elementary school. I know I had teachers mention their spouses and talk about their families when I was a kid.)
I agree in this fashion. I never agreed that any preacher should be having sex in the backseat of his car in Baton Rouge (Swaggart) or one cheating on his wife ((Bakker) but you know in the good old Christian "forgiveness" routine then I just don't judge. Maybe all you "righteous" folks should live the same for all people. Incredible that we are not all just the same as conservative thoughts go. I don't find it appropriate that a Christian prayer is needed for my very well rounded Muslim children. But we carry on...
