Most Americans view the term "woke" as positive

Only first thing in the morning is it positive.
After that woke is a joke.

 

Woke warriors like yourself probably like to feel like you’re making a difference in the world. But you’re unknowingly exacerbating things, like encouraging criminal behavior.

 

Evidently, you need to call DeSantis' general counsel and tell him that.

It is a positive term. Like many approaches to human interaction, it’s subject to extremes. Thoughtful people, and those of goodwill, are capable of avoiding generalizations, of ‘throwing the baby out with the wash.’ It bespeaks a rigidity of thought, a narrow mindedness.

 

It is a provocative term and is used in a negative manner.

 

The MAGA Party has a tendency to misuse words. I’d like to think it’s intentional but they constantly give me the impression they’re dumb as a rake.

 

Only by those who are afraid of it.

 

There is a difference between killing children, before they’re born, and corrupting them after they’re born.

 

"...with liberty and justice for all".

 

I think anyone reading to a child about a sexual topic is wrong be it in a dress or not as far as abortion well I will abstain from commenting on that subject

 

It would be more accurate to say it has become a provocative term thanks to its (clearly effective) misuse by the right-wing commentators and politicians. I would add that the left is partially responsible through what I call extreme wokeness, a prime example noted by Bill Maher on his HBO show being the ostracizing of academics for using the "N word" in an academic context. The right led by a certain governor has responded by mandating the whitewashing (pun intended) of the teaching of the history of racism in the US.

 

I don’t know anyone in the MAGA party. But judging by the libbie posts in TH, maga seems brighter than the left.

I never said anything about criminal I said I don't think it is appropriate to have a man dressed as a woman reading to children about pronouns or anything sexual and yes reading about pronouns is sexual in context

 

By you. Not by me. In fact, I don't use the term. I just try to live by its intent, which, by the way, is derived from the Bible: tolerance of diversity. DeSantis, and many other so-called leaders, have weaponized it. Their followers, in knee-jerk fashion, fire indiscriminately away.
