I think Stewart and Maher both said they thought this theory was plausible if not probable. I don't know the science but doesn't seem crazy. I think what got conflated a bit is the theory of a leak versus the suggestion that it was weaponized and done intentionally. Particularly given what we know now, it makes little sense to me that China would have done it intentionally given the economic and political turmoil it created in their own country.

Trump found a strong and dangerous following within the grievance community, the religious zealots, conspiracy theorists, and among white supremacists. To get this back on topic. The original title is just wrong. The fbi and the department of energy never said that the virus came from a lab leak. They said it could have come from a lab leak. People implying anything different are either stupid or are willfully lying.
