I don't think he has a choice. He has to stand out from Trump but it would come back to bite him in a general

He publicly said if the legislature created such bill he’d sign it. I think it was a few weeks ago when he said it. In response to Kristi Noem of South Dakota saying he wasn’t pro life enough.

‘We will sign:’ Florida Gov. DeSantis champions potential 6-week abortion bill

Gov. Kristi Noem says she would "nudge" GOP governors, including Florida's Ron DeSantis, to do more to restrict abortion

Seems like a bizarre compromise that makes no one happy and is just a lose/lose politically. Then again, I'm probably wrong about the political ramifications since I'm sure they studied that in advance.

Register republican. Show up in their primaries. Every indi and dem center of Berrnie should register pub and drag the party over away from MAGA but it has to happen in the primaries. It is the reason I remain a registered pub. Can't change it from the outside

I’ll see how things shake out but as of right now I’ll vote in TX Republican Party for Nikki Haley. In the past I have voted for the least offensive of 2 republicans in the TX primary. Not shockingly the candidate I vote for usually loses spectacularly.

What's next? Is the 7 week fetus a citizen of the state that could not be harmed regardless of where they are in the world? It wouldn't surprise me to read that next. Throw in the menstruation monitoring police and we are going full handsmaiden

Well, I guess we are going to get to see all of those lying, BS, fake religious Republicans lining up to adopt all of those unwanted babies, right?? They have all claimed that they would lovingly open up their homes, spend every last penny of their personal wealth and do whatever it takes to protect those unborn fetuses from conception to death.

OK sack of cr@p lying hypocrites, start lining up for those babies now.

People can tell me I’m wrong all they want…but the DeSantis version of the MAGA wet dream Florida is becoming is largely the fault of the democrats.
Had they even a hint of organization the last decade there’s a good chance it would still be a purple state and none of this garbage would ever get passed. State officials have screamed about it the last few election cycles, but the national party all but wrote the state off. And you can’t really blame DeSantis for thinking he has a clear mandate given the last election results (which were miles outside of the polling, furthering my point).
    This idiocy is the result.

I tried that for 30 years. Changing from within didn’t work.

If a pregnant mother crosses the border into the US what is the legal status of the fetus?

Kidnapping from state custody for carrying a registered fetus outside the state. This applies to any conception that takes place in FL, even if the woman resides in another state

Murder if she gets an abortion or the registered fetus isn’t returned and carried through birth. A capital crime.

Sorry ladies, old sparky gonna be working overtime in the sunshine state.

Very few women even know they're pregnant at six weeks.

I read the whole article twice and I don’t see anywhere that he said clearly he would sign a 6 week bill.
He said he would sign good legislation, a rather vague non specific answer.

It likely dies before it gets to his desk.
