Also, lets be clear. Old people are out of touch. Party affiliation notwithstanding.

Because it's not a matter of pushing everything down everyone's throats. As is typical, you want to argue two sides (I.e. You dislike the use of the word "woke," then proceed to defend it to the teeth.). At any rate, that may be your experience in your state, but it does not apply to everyone and everything.

Lol. It wasnt bathrooms. It was health club showers. Charlotte wanted to prohibit limitations on anatomical men showering in womens showers at the gym.

Most of the liberals fighting know it was a stupid concept but cant let their side be wrong so they fought it.

NC already had a bathroom bill on the books. Charlotte took it further and the legislature THEN stepped in because a city cant override the state.

Charlotte would have required a woman file a complaint if a man changed in an open locker room and then the complaint would go before a board. The law was ambiguous.

Whats also finny 8sbthat Roy Cooper flipped an election over it and then basically pissed off the extremists left by not really being strong on the matter after he was elected.

The ACLU and most LGBTQ groups were furious that he didnt uphold his promises.

It was politics. The left capitalized on the financial pressure by outside forces and then caved once they won.

The ignorance on this subject from the outside is laughable.

Roy Cooper is a leaf in the wind. He knew most people didnt really want such an open law. He used it to get elected by highlighting the financial damages the outside inflicted on the state.

    Pure partisan nonsense. Nothing new.

To clarify, I think the word is dumb. I just dont think that racism is at the current heart of it.

Vut to say the issue I cited was not forced on the people in this state is misguided.

It may have been the clearest use of force I've seen in my lifetime.

I just picked five liberals who seem among the common posters on Too Hot. They have used to the word 'bigot' a total of 29.
Then I check one local conservative who often complains about how often his side is called bigots. He's used the word 47 times.

That actually matches up correctly with the nature of positives vs negatives. It takes like 5 positive comments to overcome 1 negative comment.
You guys should cease with the name calling altogether. That would great.

If the person you are referring to is me, get used to it. I will continue to bury the people who foolishly use it.

I guess grammar police and hoa presidents have similar hang ups.
If a person uses a negative comment, it usually takes 5 positive comments to overcome or match the effects of that one bad comment.
    Does that suffice?

Happened much earlier. It went to shit when the FCC ended the fairness doctrine. A decision ironically based on the notion that since a multiplicity of sources were replacing the three broadcast networks it was no longer necessary to mandate equal time for competing political views. The real effect was that consumers of media siloed themselves into competing bubbles based on political views and over time became less and less exposed to competing points of view.

Facebook as well as the other social media had the effect of amplifying the divisions especially considering that a certain segment of consumers of social media more so on one side of the political spectrum than the other although not exclusively limited to them that accept social media postings as actual fact.
