I was giving examples of non racial uses of the term.

 

Dr. Seuss is a perfect example. What is that based on? I recall the publisher decided to stop publishing a few of the more obscure Seuss books, ones that had racial stereotypes as well. So now they run with the narrative going from “cancel culture” to “liberals hate Seuss”. All this based on publisher decision to no longer publish some obscure books most probably weren’t even aware of before. It’s straight up idiocy, and this is what the intellectual “leaders” of the party are pushing? They are no better than dope dealers at this point.

 

No offense, but I think the fact that you referred it as being shoved down your throats is exactly the problem.

 

And I think that when everytime we disagree with something extreme we are called bigots or told we hate someone we disagree with..."is exactly the problem" ... and it breeds overreaction as a counter action.

So it wasn't shoved down your throat, but some hypothetical other parents' throats. Looks to me like the most common use of the word 'bigot' here is not someone calling a conservative a bigot. It's conservatives claiming that they're constantly being called bigot.

It was one of multiple examples I used that were not racial. That was the point, (since you missed it). I used the term "ours" as a collective. Not everyone within the collective is equally impacted.

If I say "our" favorite colors are orange and blue, it doesnt literally mean every one of us doesn't have another color we like better. It's a generalization.

 

The extremist on the left like to accuse others of "hate" but shrink when the term is tossed back at them.

Its always silly to use the term when it isnt applicable. It's a terrible term. Save it for the real thing.

It has stopped because we have called it out to the point they have mostly stopped.

Heck, I remember one certain prominent member telling me that if I didnt like the term, I should stop associating with them because any vote for one of them was a vote for all of them.

I also recall it being tossed around a good deal during the aforementioned "bathroom" debate.

I swear the selective memory must be great. i'm gonna try that with Gator sports during this crappy period.

 

They are examples of the term not being racist. THAT has been my point from the start....And the bathroom issue was literally pushed down the citizens of this state by force by huge outside entities.

The NCAA pulled tourny games. The NBA pulled the AllStar game. There were even threats from non ACC teams to not play road games in the state. Large organizations threatened jobs. It was the epitome of forcing it down peoples throats. Vote a certain way or we take your jobs, your entertainment, your sports etc.
