No other sport has fans who whine about etiquette more than baseball fans. It’s a rival. It is Miami. Screw the canes

I can tolerate this kind of stuff in this particular series because of the rich history of pure hatred between these teams and fanbases.

I’d rather us take the overall high road and act like we’ve been there before against most other opponents though… at least until provoked…

Somewhat related, and I haven’t seen this discussed much elsewhere, is the leadership that appears to be developing in Josh and BT. At least on TV, they appear to be the vocal leaders on this team. Intangibles like that pay dividends down the road.

Our Gator team seems to celebrate big hits and homeruns and critical strikeouts just as much as any team. So didn’t have much sympathy for them when they were protesting Miami scoring/celebrating 13 unanswered runs on Saturday. I was more pissed off that we had blown our third big lead of the season entering the mid to late innings. What a difference a day can make. Was happy to see the guys bounce back with 8 runs in first two innings and an outstanding pitching performance from Jac. Sully has a couple weeks to determine who are the dependable arms in the bullpen.

My local TV station showed the Evans HR that finished off the Canes today and there was no throat slash... when he crossed the plate he flashed the U and broke it over his knee- quite right given the nonsense from the Canes this weekend.
My comments on this unfortunate umpiring crew stand!

    Mentioned this recently.
Sully talked about Josh in clubhouse and dugout.
Josh also on field. BT and Wyatt on field too. Throughout the game I hear Wyatt more than anyone relative to backing up his pitcher with support.
So far the Josh I’ve seen is so important to this team due to all the intangibles he brings.

I don't like when they do that stuff, I don't like when we do that stuff....but that's the game today. If you want to stay away from any kids that do stuff like that you will have a very thin roster

Throat slash was to our dugout after a big bat flip. It was a complete production lol

As apk said the slash was on his way to first. I don't even think the bat flip was that big of a deal, not like some of Miami's bat flips that went flying back to the wall. The highlight reel I saw had three different angles right after the homerun and the first two changed cameras and did not show the slash but the third one got a great angle of the passion Evans showed to his own players and his back to Miami's dugout. Evans did it right. He ended the game. End of story.

That's the way to do it, in my view. Pour it all out on the field (both sides), and then show your respect after the game (all in-game animosities aside) recognizing that each side is trying to compete their hearts out for their team. I love it!

    Go GATORS!

Maybe but never saw Wyatt do it one time. Can’t see Cags doing that but I could be wrong. Could never and don’t think I ever saw Jud do it.

The announcers have said Friday, I think, that O'Sullivan has been wanting his players to show more passion and emotion. Get fired up over a big hit or a big out! Riopelle and Rivera have been leading the charge and I applaud the effort from all the guys who follow their lead. No direct taunting of the other team, just show the guys how much you want to produce and win for each other. That's what Ty was doing, IMO.

Yeah, Sully’s postgame show o heard recently was interesting. Seemed very impressed with leadership being shown. That’s when he talked about Rivera. Sounds like people respect and listen when Josh talks.

Guess you didn't see Cags give the finger to their third baseman.

Rivera's at bat in the first was key. Their pitcher was going well and Josh got an 8-9 pitch walk to extend the inning and the two out magic followed. The play in the 8th was also crucial because if he doesn't make that play we are in a 9-6 9-7 ballgame with momentum solidly on their side.
