Along that vein could those “experts” have a reason to not want it to be an accidental lab leak? Might it affect their research and funding in a negative way? Like shut them down?
Gain of Function - making an imaginary virus even deadlier. The only thing I’d worry about is things that do exist, like toxins. But they don’t spread like viruses are supposed to.
It is certainly possible for some, but since there is no one in the world funded solely and specifically to investigate the origins of SARS-CoV-2, a virus undocumented prior to 3 years ago, it is difficult to believe that. Though, as I said, it cannot be completely discounted. For example, one of the world's (one of many I am sure) leading authorities of viral genetics is employed at Scripps Research, he has received external funding for investigating the origins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but it is a small part of his work. In fact, his primary research is identifying sources of West African infectious diseases and helping to stamp them out. He has published more papers on the origins of Ebola in the past 3 years than SARS-CoV-2.
So when I see an entire family or a group of co-workers all come down with Influenza A it’s because they all feared themselves sick?
I don't think it was intended to be censorship, rather the poster simply didn't want to have see your posts. The "most likely" part seems to been glossed over here.
Viruses. Simultaneous symptoms suggest some mass psychosomatic syndrome which some how would cause measurable changes in a persons vitals signs you know like a fever of 104.
Bunch of people got a 104 fever together ? I suppose it’s possible. Here’s an instance in which 1,600 died and it wasn’t the radiation ... Why Panic Caused More Deaths than Radiation at Fukushima
Pay wall. The link really didn’t explain anything it linked a times article. And yes it’s possible that a bunch of people got a 104 fever together, it’s the immune response to infections like Influenza and not some result of fear over the flu…
A couple of years ago I lost a nice ash tree to infestation by the emerald ash borer beetle. I had another tree tree treated with an injectable insecticide last September. Maybe I should just let nature take it's course and if that tree became infected hope that it would have been able to naturally resist the insect (highly unlikely by the way). https://dnr.maryland.gov/forests/Documents/EmeraldAshBorer_HomeownersGuide.pdf
My trees get fungus and lose their leaves every December ? Maybe I should spray them so they don’t lose their leaves ?
Since the fungus affecting your trees is apparently cosmetic since it doesn't kill them spraying them is optional and if they are deciduous trees that would lose their leaves anyway unnecessary. Infestation of the emerald ash borer if it progresses beyond a certain point is almost always fatal to an ash tree.
Yes, people and trees get sick and die. What does that have to do with trees losing their leaves in the winter ?
You're the one who originally mentioned trees losing their leaves in winter, I was responding to you're post.
I think you lost track of the conversation. The topic was alternative explanations simultaneous physical manifestations.
Getting back to the original subject of this thread, it will probably never really be determined conclusively whether the origin of Covid-19 was from a lab leak or was caused by the virus jumping from animals at a Wuhan wet market. Both are equally plausible. In any event the Chinese government has been opaque and is ultimately responsible. It is generally agreed that contrary to one of the early theories from the right, it wasn't a bioweapon. I would add that although I incorrectly assumed that the FBI relied on the DOE study, it should be noted that what has been made public by the FBI has essentially been through interviews of Christopher Wray. The actual FBI report is still classified making it impossible for scientists outside of the government to objectively critique it.
Since there are no viruses, man made or otherwise, the only thing China can be blamed for is any role it played in perpetuating panic over select pneumonia cases.
