The fans are losing their minds over being called out for a lack of accountability. Apparently 89 in a 45 and racing resulting in death is the same as 10 over the speed limit. Harmless....

Don’t know if this has been mentioned but I’ll throw a conspiracy theory out there…Is there a chance LeCroy wasn’t the one actually driving and they switched the victims before the cops got there (could be why Carter left the scene). it seems well documented the players are the ones with a history street racing. Not to generalize but how often to you see women even speeding let alone racing. And at her size with a .18 bac I question her ability to operate a car that fast while cutting in and out of traffic.

For this to be remotely possible, you would have to have the two surviving passengers completely on board. With the understanding that if it fell apart they would be going to jail for lying and obstruction of an investigation.

 

You know they know their program and cops stink to high heaven when the writer is calling out the program and cops for being corrupt and then at the end writes "I dont think its a bad thing to have a staffer look out for the interests of the players when they have contact with the police"..."after all cops are allowed to lie". Wow...just wow. Did Kirby steal his computer and write the last part himself? How about the police department shouldn't be influenced AT ALL by the football program and if there is an illegal act where two people die the police should thoroughly investigate and hold everyone accountable under every circumstance.

 

I don't think it's "likely" but I definitely don't find it far fetched to think it could have happened like that. I'd never presume it went like that without evidence though. None of us know the facts at this time.

 

This was a very horrific crash that happened while under the influence of alcohol and it was at a very high speed. I doubt that the surviving participants of the crash could function mentally and physically to pull of such a con job. Also, some of the injuries inflicted on all parties would not of matched up to the switched locations they had in the cars. I am referring to cuts by glass, and impact injuries due to parts of the car and the poles the cars hit.

 

At this point, I believe a special prosecutor needs to be appointed and possibly this case kicked up to the state police. Take it out of the locals hands.

 

Collusion and corruption change things and there is evidence some of this has happened already although to what extent we don't know. I have worked horrific accidents where people died and yet passengers in the same car walked away unscathed. I have seen cars crumbled to the point it defied logic anyone survived let alone walked away. I don't conclude anything one way or the other in this case. I agree swapping drivers would depend on injuries and corruption but there is no telling what those injuries entailed without being in scene and I'll just stop there so as not to speculate in any detail out of respect for the decedent's families.

 

Looks like the proofreaders at CBS need a refresher course. From the article:

"The development in Thomas' case comes as the program grapples with the fallout from a series of other legal issues involving current or former players, including NFL Draft prospect Jordan Davis' alleged role in a deadly Jan. 15 single-car accident that killed a Georgia football player and recruiting analyst. Davis was booked Wednesday night on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing after turning himself in to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department."

I'm pretty sure Jordan Davis played for the smelly mutts in 2021 and has already been in the NFL for a year.

 

Hmmmm....seems like charges Jalen Carter should have caught.

 

In my opinion, this is all terrible but, sadly, not at all surprising. It's reprehensible for the family to be kept out of the loop.

It's not unusual or even questionable to hire an experienced trial attorney when there is an unofficial gag order if not some sort of cover-up underway. The front seat passenger claiming he "blacked-out" is textbook if you lean towards a cover-up.

Not saying it will happen in this case, and it's quite unlikely coming off back-to-back national play-offs, but often the cover-up being exposed far overshadows the initial event.

No "player liaison," or fixer as many here have called him, should have been anywhere near a tragedy like this. Much less one of the first cleared through the Police Chief personally. Having been in a squad car for 8-years, I can't imagine it. That right there should have the attention of everyone. Everything following that phone call, to me, is tainted.

 

Yup. You know how THIs go. No one should have been allowed in proximity of that scene for hours while a THI was conducted. The fact that such misinformation was disseminated initially combined with that officials presence tells you all you need to know about how tainted that protocol was. Zero bwnefit of doubt from that point on.

 

Interesting - I was beginning to question my long-standing belief that UF has always held to higher standards than Bama, Georgia, Auburn….the balance of the good ole boy SEC. A lot of people on this board loudly try to drive the point that we’re no “better” than they are. Well screw all that! There’s no way this level of corruption has ever existed at the University of Florida.

We are competing every year with dirty corrupt programs in a crooked conference, and undoubtedly have cards stacked against us that we aren’t even aware of. For us to win championships at all with these disadvantages is truly profound. And you can bet that not one rival school of ours ever wants to see UF succeed. This is why you’ll never catch me joining in on any “SEC! SEC! SEC!” chants at games or anywhere else.

That impact was so traumatic, that no one in that car was physically or mentally capable of switching drivers immediately after the accident. If Carter had been been driving he would be extremely lucky to be alive, much less capable of switching drivers.

I still don't get why the focus of the criticism isn't on the UGA staffers who were out at titty bars until the wee hours with players, drunk as Kooter Brown, and racing the car that crashed. That is the real mystery to move. How is UGA dodging that outrageous conduct by its own staff?

 

I don't think the theory is that anyone switched seats. The suggested possibility is that the information reported was skewed. Now I don't believe that is likely however its not so far fetched to believe given how fast their "cleaner" was on scene and how controlled and misleading the initial info was. I don't think the author of that theory or anyone here is blaming the victims of coverup at all.

I share the same disbelief of how UGA is escaping widespread and hard hitting criticism. Sure there are some pieces written that have been critical of them but nothing matching the level of coverup and corruption that is slowly leaking out.

 

I respect your feedback on my comments and I agree with you as well.

Of course every auto crash has its own twist in turns. What is unlikely in one accident can be very likely in another accident.

Is tampering of the scene of this accident a factor in this incident? Who knows? We are talking about UGA, Athens, and Clark County of Georgia.

FYI, I have lived in the Atlanta Metro area since 1991 and tampering or other shenanigans would not surprise me.

 

I would think it would be easy to determine who was driving in a crash at that speed because of the chest trauma inflicted by the steering wheel.
