March 1 marked the 50th anniversary of the launch of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album. I know the Bulls used "On the Run", from that album as intro music for opposing teams and "Sirius"by the Alan Parsons Project for theirs. This also marked the first use of songs of any kind in the live setting in the NBA. What is our team's intro music?
Our team's intro music should be a family-friendly popular song cherished by the current athletes and students. Then us old farts can complain about it and create message board topics where we further complain about it.
actually- now that I think of it… I don’t think we are. and I believe the uaa paid a ton of money for that technology.
I was always hoping the football team would adopt the first two minutes of Swamp Thing... with the students and alumni stomping in unison with the song.... but I'm old. (Wouldn't be opposed to having some young rapper remix it and adding something Gators centric over it though...)
I used to teach a video course at UF and our client was the Alachua County School Board with a video aimed at middle schoolers. I told my students when they went home for some holiday to ask their younger siblings about favorite music groups. My students came back and said they had no idea what groups their sibs were talking about
