If this belongs in nuttin but net please move.
Has anyone been watching the history of SEC Basketball on SEC Network? It's pretty good, the first 3 or 4 episodes are basically a UK slobber fest but they did the 90's on Monday and had our 92 team on there. Funniest thing was Dan Cross talking about Da Meat Hook. He would come in on a monday and since nobody watched what he ate on the weekend, the weigh in made him nervous. He said Hill would put his finger on the Gatorade rack next to the scale and push down on it to move the needle about 20 pounds. Too Funny.
Interesting series though. Next one should be good with the 04's.

Wasn't that the year we made the final 4, lost to Duke? Maybe it was later.

Thanks @archigator_96 . . . I moved it to Hallgator's NBN so all our basketball folks could see your thread for sure.

Where could I find a schedule of the episodes airing in the future? I would definitely be interested in watching the section(s) about the 04's :)

I found this: Southern Hoops: A History of SEC Basketball

I guess you'd have to check the SECN daily schedule to find out what time(s) and when any replays are scheduled.

Edit: Update . . . I also came across this: SEC Network - TV Schedule & Listings Guide

I've watched the 70's and 80's and enjoyed the Dale Brown parts. He was an interesting dude and was good friends with a friends dad who coached Martin County a long time. They sugar coated the Rupp stuff in it though. Taped part 5 ('90-'98) and scheduled to tape part 6 and 7 if there is one.

Monday nights at 9 is when I get the new episode. They play the previous week's before. They do it by decade so our national champion years should be the next episode. It's very similar to the series they did on football.

I’m partial to the 80’s episode, so far. That’s when the rest of the SEC decided to get serious about basketball ( including UF) and stop just conceding the league title to KY. I did enjoy the earlier episode on Dale Brown. He couldn’t ever get over the hump, but he could spot talent a mile away. That squad with Macklin, Scales & Horton was impressive.

He just couldn’t coach. He had a team with Stanley Roberts Chris Jackson and Shaq and didn’t get out of the first weekend at NCAAs.

I don’t think he couldn’t coach. He did seem to do more with less, then less with more. Still, his emergence with LSU was a big part of the SEC starting to look like a league that was taking its basketball more seriously. Plus, he was quite a character.

That part with Shaq was interesting that it was Coach Brown basically told him to go pro because of the way other teams were playing him. Not that the hack-a-shaq defense didn't exist in the pros but it was a lot less flagrant.
