I'm not sure why someone would "come on man" you for this.

Baker at Baylor worked some magic. Why not offer?

Thanks ET, some decent candidates on the list. I personally like Scott's credentials - big-time experience. Prying him from Clemson, assuming he's truly a candidate, would require some real finesse along with a considerable amount of folding money, I would assume...

    Go Gators.

Isn't he just an analyst at Clemson? He'd have an on field coaching position and I'm assuming co-OC if he came here.

That's my pick and I think would be a huge upgrade. None of the others seem like an upgrade to me.

This is probably old news by now, I would think that none of these are in the picture at this point. Think Billy is casting a wider net and new candidates are targeted....

I’d guess he’s next in line to be Clemson’s oc and he knows that. He’s made some cash already so he’s not desperate. Who knows where he’d rather be and Dabo will probably be around longterm. Napier may or may not be at Florida a few years from now. Does he mind moving his family every couple years? If he has a wife, maybe she wants to grow some roots? Lots of questions that I can’t answer.

I've heard, but am not saying I know it to be true, he and his wife never sold their home in South Carolina. If that's true it certainly sheds light on their thinking. Maybe you're right and he is in-line for the Clemson OC job. However, if he could be the Florida Co-OC right now, a bird in the hand . . .

Yep but what are his and his wife’s priorities. Was she in South Carolina while he was at usf? If I were in his shoes, cash would no longer be controlling my decisions. I’d consider the cash, but my decisions would be based on quality of life.

The writer, a Mr. Carroll is a complete moron not to list Ike Hilliard. He’s coached WRs in the NFL, played QB in HS in Louisiana and after becoming a NFL draft lottery pick at WR from his AA days at UF, he knows how to run routes and get open. He’d be a great recruiter in LA and especially the Tampa Bay Area
Anyone who saw what he did at OC in his limited time at Auburn (with almost zero playmakers and an inaccurate WB) had to be impressed.
We have the money, why isn’t Ike in Gainesville already?

Who has he recruited as I honestly don’t know. If he is a top notch recruiter and coach, he should be a no brainer from that standpoint. Next would be how he fit in with the existing staff. It would be nice to have a gator great on staff if he was the man for the job.

Getting a little concerned we haven’t hired the TE coach nor the WR coach as spring practice gets close to starting - in two days. Not so much for the coaching being done in practice …we have dedicated staffers to help with this within Billy’s army. More so to do with recruiting. Dead period is over. Tons of recruits about to descend onto campus this March and attending the spring game -including wideouts and tight ends. I think it is crucial for them to meet their position coaches when they visit. In some kids cases, their actual position coach may convince them to set up and OV or even commit. Without one, a visitor may decide not to come back. Can’t help not having their position coach on campus.

I’m a little surprised CBN hasn’t hired Jeff Scott before now. When we played South Florida he really seemed to praise him and his Dad.
I don’t have much of an opinion on who he should hire because I simply don’t how well any of the coaches mentioned can coach and/or recruit.
I agree with the poster who suggested there is a degree of urgency with getting a WR and TE coach in place for the Spring.
    BN will do his research.

Jeff Scott was fired by USF long before Garrett Riley was hired as the new Clemson OC. Why didn’t Dabo just rehire Scott as the OC? Several conflicting reports out there about Jeff Scott’s current status. I’m sure Billy would love to hire him but Scott likely wants to be more than just a position coach at his next assistant stop. A WR co-OC role might not sit well with Rob Sale either.

I’m sure Scott wants oc as he can get it somewhere at a good program.

247 is reporting that Joe Daily, Joel Filani and Taylor Stubblefield are the most likely finalists after Coach Napier interviewed seven potential WR coaches yesterday.

Justin Stepp and Billy did speak in the beginning of the process . Justin decided to stay at South Carolina because it’s his home state.
