You could prevent that as part of any settlement agreement, just expose them to additional damages for each occurrence.

Agree, with the additional condition that the announcement be made multiple times during the show and that the announcement also be made explicitly made by the actual infotainment star (Carlson, Hannity, Ingraham, etc) live and on the air not in the form of a disembodied announcer speaking in a manner that is barely intelligible.

I would add a scrolling banner for 30 days or so as a constant reminder. Some will still refuse to believe it. Maybe make them play the video of the depositions

Those who fear "indoctrination" the most, are the most indoctrinated themselves.

And I guess the point was, okay, I understand the need to have another point of view, but if you are on the board of directors of a company that is pumping toxic sludge, racism, disinformation, and attacks on democracy, if you don’t stand up now, then when?”

Yes, that's what made us the greatest nation on Earth... Go to school... behave.. eat 3 square meals a day... brush your teeth... do your homework... learn and manors and respect others... do your chores... work hard to get ahead in life... All that is part of the American indoctrination.

You forgot, "Yes, Massah, No Massah," married women can't be raped by their husbands, cross burnings, Irish need not apply, America--love it or leave it, the KKK and now DeSantis deciding what books are appropriate. More American indoctrination for you.

CNN doesn’t miss a beat on exposing Fox from the court proceedings.

Fox learns the hard way about being beholden to the GOP base | CNN Politics

Fox News is the latest example of opinion formers on the right exposed for being held hostage to the fury they helped to incite. Extraordinary revelations this week from a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems showed that Fox Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch admitted under oath that some of the channel’s top stars endorsed false claims that the 2020 election was stolen as he tried to stop viewers from defecting. Previous disclosures showed some of those Fox hosts knew they were peddling lies but were worried they’d alienate their audience if they told the truth about Trump’s false claims.

The new details underscored how key players on the right feel they have no choice but to appease, satisfy and further inflame the voters and viewers on whom their profits or hopes of political power depend.

Jeffrey Sonnenfeld states that every senior manager should be fired as well and levels pretty harsh criticism at the board. Hard to argue with any of this. The willingness to lie endangers the financial performance of the firm. I still think the sharing of advertising might be the easiest case, because you could at least argue that lying to their viewers may have been a smart financial strategy, even if it backfires, but hard to argue that giving away data on advertising to competitors of your advertisers is a good use of a public company's resources. Seems like a pretty clear violation of a fiduciary relationship.

I wonder how many on TH who have regularly viewed Carlson, Hannity, etc. for news still do, or have they come to realize those folks are, if not outright liars, unreliable.

It's hard to admit you've been wrong, especially about something you've passionately believed.

Breaking news from the Borrowitz report.

Rupert Murdoch Calls Telling Truth Under Oath Worst Experience of His Life

The way it works is, people ask you questions, and you have to tell them what actually happened and not something you made up,” he explained. “It was beyond beastly.”

Reflecting on the traumatic experience, Murdoch said, “I know there are some people who tell the truth day in and day out, and I don’t know how they manage it. I’ve told the truth once, and I don’t intend to do it again.”

Similar but more wickedly funny and more attuned to current news. Runs in the New Yorker. Generally skewers the right because let’s face it they’re a juicy target.

Pretty sure it is going to be Suzanne Scott. But I'm not sure that will be enough.
