By: Eric Fawcett -- February 26, 2023 With Florida’s season at the risk of spinning out of control they’ll try to get things moving in the right direction Tuesday when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Losing 7 of their last 9 games, the NCAA Tournament is out of the question for the Gators unless they were to go on a run in the SEC Tournament and win, so right now they’re looking to get some wins that will improve their seed and put them in a better position to try to make that happen. Currently the Gators are 10th in the SEC at 7-9, and they’ll look to put some distance between them and the 11th ranked team–the Georgia Bulldogs. Entering Tuesday night at 6-10, this would give the Bulldogs a chance at matching Florida’s record if they were able to take down the Gators. If we lose to the poodles we'll both be 7-10 in conference play with them having all the momentum. Pretty ironic circumstance considering Georgia wasn't expected to do much in Mike White's first year. And 17-13 overall feels a lot better than 14-16 (us likely).
May not amount to much of a consolation, but I think the next two games are important for getting into the NIT and giving some of the young guys like Aberdeen, some much needed experience.
If Reeves is chucking up wild threes and Jones is putting up shots that require some prayer we will lose. If they continue to do so we have no chance, again. Sorry to be so cynical.
Add in Fudge on that last come in and fire wild three pointers early in the clock. Alosing recipe of which, just like CMW’s squads, make it their offense.
