Your life with the 46 chromosomes you have today began at conception as a zygote. Ad did mine. As @GatorJMDZ was able to show...the prenatal stages of our development is an extremely important time in our lives.

And the child does not get to have a say in the "decision" when it comes to "their" life?

I just don’t get why some of you folks are so passionate about murder. Pick a worthy cause.

Can’t murder zygote. It’s not a human being. It’s like killing Bambi.

Your chosen political party gets collectively turgid about capital punishment so go ask them.

Dehumanizing terms are required to reach the conclusions needed by some. It makes it palatable.

Fetus is code for developing human being.

The death penalty is wrong too in almost every case.

Or maybe it’s a word that has an actual meaning.

Mostly right wing Christian code. I’m not a Christian In case you hadn’t notice. I guess being a Christian mean everyone needs to follow your code which is patently ridiculous and why if your ilk ever gains control I’m out of here.

No. It is a Life separate from the Mother.

Your life began as a zygote like all of ours. @GatorJMDZ provided a good reading on the importance of our development from that point.

    The law defines viability as:

Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : Online Sunshine

It seems to be a logical contradiction to at the same time state there is a fatal abnormality and the fetus is "viable."

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/heal...rtion-ban-unviable-pregnancy-potter-syndrome/

Does that sound like "viable" to you?

Sometimes people just need to use common sense. If somebody were to sue the doctor or the hospital over this, who is going to argue that an injustice was done to the child/baby/fetus?

Speaking of “codewords”, here in the real world where words have meanings, pretty sure these simply describe the stages of development in mammals.

    Embryo—>Fetus—>Baby

For those who think Fetus is a “code word”, its apparent these stages of mammalian development have been supplanted with the GOP Jesus version:

    Baby—>Baby—>Taker

You do not have to be a Christian to understand biology and science. Your life began as a zygote with 23 chromosomes from your mother and 23 chromosomes from your father. Like all of our lives did. From there your development process began separate from your mother. Though she was key in protecting you through the earliest stages of your development.

I mean I was having a normal conversation but if we want to resort to mud, I'm not interested.

I quoted the law above, and it specifically refers to a definition of viability from the same chapter.

Why should the doctor risk arrest over a poorly written law? I have no doubt that Christian groups would demand prosecution. Again, if the law was intended to cover all fatal fetal conditions, at all stages of pregnancy, then why did they put the part in there clearly banning abortion after “viability” even for deadly fetal conditions? That’s the logical disconnect, and clearly shows the person who wrote the law doesn’t consider two doctors concluding the baby will die to be the same as “non-viable”. It’s clear the legislature DIDNT want all fatal fetal conditions excluded at all stages of pregnancy.

    Fix the law…

Right wing Christian. I know plenty of Christians that are good people live their faith but don’t cram it down other peoples face. A public example is Jimmy Carter.

I never asked the questions when it happened. But two close friends from high school who both attended UF while I was there had a child who was almost certainly born with Potter's Syndrome. My wife and I drove out of our way on the weekend after he was born to see them and Ben in Tampa after his birth. Ben lived about 2 weeks on this amazing creation we walk each day. That was a special moment for me in my Life and I know for a fact in their Lives. Ben will never be forgotten!!!

How is it mud? You made the ridiculous statement that the term fetus is a “codeword”.

What I described is *exactly* the dishonest tactics activists use to group all abortions as “baby murder”. We see this frequently. It’s actually deranged. This is also exactly why and how we end up with bad law + issues as described in this thread. This would have been a rare late term abortion that would have been allowed under Roe. Instead, look at what they are being forced to go through at the hands of the government.
