If that's what happens (and it seems likely since The Gumps and LegHumpers are nicely taken care of), Florida will have a tough to very tough schedule every year.

    TAMU and Arkansas get clobbered.

UcheaT gets off about as easy as possible.

If true, let's hope Hugh Freeze turns Auburn into a juggernaut. LOL! :)

The CBS proposal is WAY more balanced.

These clowns are really trying hard to ruin our SEC college football rivalries.

Please tell me this is all a bad dream.

We should just add Auburn to the East Division and play a 10 game SEC schedule, with no permanent cross division rivals. That gives us 3 West Division teams per year.

I despise the fact that either way we lose the LSU game.

We would get at least 6 home games with that 2 division schedule.

Some future OOC games from 2024 and beyond are gonna go bye-bye. In 24 UF has Miami-Samford-UCF-reF$u. Samford gets axed?

This is chicken excrement right here.

Just another fine improvement to the UF college football experience brought to by the SEC commissioner and SEC President's.

Probably, 9 game SEC schedule will finally see the FCS games go bye bye.

“Rivalries, geography and balance.” Interesting, UF could get off light if that’s really the case. Still believe they’re gonna go with some sort of a 2/1 lineup for the upper half teams. They’ll get 2 really good teams - 1 middling team.

Edit: I edited @62gator's post to provide the link to the Sports Illustrated story for those who don't know to go through the Twitter post. /ET

Based on that schedule in the tweet, Florida would be the only original SEC member to get a permanent opponent of Texas or Oklahoma. In fact, Florida would be the ONLY original sec school to only have one permanent game (of 3) vs an original SEC opponent - Georgia. The other two being South Carolina (joined in 1992) and Oklahoma (2024). That is complete horse *.

the rest of the original members:
Georgia - all 3 vs original sec teams
Alabama - all 3 vs original sec teams
Auburn - all 3 vs original sec teams
Ole Miss - 2 original plus 1992 expansion team
Miss St - 2 original plus 1992 expansion team
Tenn - 2 original plus 1992 expansion team
Kentucky - 2 original plus 1992 expansion team
LSU - 2 original plus 2012 expansion team
Vandy- 2 original plus 2012 expansion team

Florida - 1 original plus 1992 expansion team and 2024 exp team

that is total garbage and frankly, our AD needs to be held accountable if it shakes out this way. I don’t care about the strength of the perm opponent. I think UF is the original member getting royally screwed based on history and tradition- we are the ONLY one getting royally screwed.

we are even getting crapped on compared to newer SEC members

South Carolina - (joined 1992)- THREE ORIGINAL MEMBERS!!!! WTF!!! Why are they given that schedule? They wouldn’t have a flight over 2 hours. We’d go to Oklahoma? The two schools furthest apart. Dumb.

Arkansas (joined 1992) 1 original, 1 2012 and 1 2024 (though Arkansas has long rivalries with both the 2012 and 2024 schools)

texas a&M (joined 2012) - 2 original and 1 2024. So a team that just joined ten years ago has more games vs original members than UF? Unreal.

missouri -joined 2012- 1 original, 1 1992 team and one 2024 team. Same as Uf. So, the league office treats us like F**ing Missouri.

SEC office dumping on us again. And UF admin needs to be telling SEC to pound sand. If not, add this schedule travesty to the reasons to fire SS.

Probably obvious but this has really made me angry.

I’ve figured all along that UF was gonna get Oklahoma, just a hunch. Thought they would try to pair Okie up with one of the east teams and it wasn’t going to be Georgia, obviously. No matter what they do, some will like it, some will hate it. I actually prefer the 8/1 schedule, yes I’m in a very small minority. Give everyone one permanent game, those are easy to matchup. Much less potential shenanigans.

They should pay fans for travel expenses to watch that crap. Our home schedule is crap this year. Three good games and total garbage after that.Tenn, Arky and Free shoes, the rest not worth the drive.

Not bad as far as competition fairness but Georgia is really the only rivalry. Historically I’d say Tennessee would be our game missing and lately Lsu or even Auburn kinda but whatever. It’ll work I guess.
