Trlicek in to pitch. Hightower goes 4.1 innings, gives up 5 runs, all earned, on 6 hits, 2 walks and no K's, a double, a triple and 3 HR's. Her ERA went from 0.00 starting the game to 1.42 now.

Wilkie replaced Longley behind the plate.

 

This weekend is a wake-up call for the Gators, as the 2 best pitchers we've faced have shut us down completely and the 2 best hitting teams we've faced have lit us up.

 

Bunker grounds out to 3rd, 2 outs.

 

Humphreys strikes out, Wilkie throws to 1st to complete the out. Side retired. Bottom of the 5th, Florida needs the bats to come alive!!!

 

Hewett replaces Bird at 3rd base for Oregon.

Roe fouls out to 1b on a 1-1 count. We're not even making their pitcher work hard. She's only thrown 28 pitches!!!

Now that she's completed the 5th inning, she's thrown 35 pitches. We're swinging early in the count and not making very good contact. Only 1 K, but no walks.

 

Their #5 hitter, Ornelas, lines out to Falby in left on a 3-1 count. 1 out.

 

I believe we’ve been no hit for a combined 10 innings against ranked teams. Is this Oregon’s ace? We’ve made her look like Cy Young’s daughter!

Sinicki pops out to Goelz at 1st. 3 up, 3 down for Rylee. 5-0 Oregon going to the bottom of the 6th.

 

For the "C'mon Man" on my post about their pitcher only throwing 28 pitches - that's where she was at when I checked the stats web page in the middle part of the bottom of the 5th. She threw 7 more pitches to close the inning and starts the bottom of the 6th with 35 pitches. Hard to believe, but true.

 

Wilkie squibbed a ball in front of home plate and was thrown out by the catcher. 1 pitch, 1 out.

 

12 FO and 2 GO. I know Wallace is missing, but that's no excuse for the rest of the team. Until Delbrey gets back to form, we have only one dependable pitcher and she can't do it all.
