If children don't frequently experience severe illness with COVID-19, why do they need a COVID-19 vaccine?
A COVID-19 vaccine and booster, updated to the most common strain of the virus that causes COVID-19, might prevent your child from getting the COVID-19 virus or becoming seriously ill or hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine can help your child more safely participate in sports and other group activities too.

COVID-19 vaccines are very safe for kids
The vaccines are extremely safe for kids“and the side effect profiles are very similar in the 16 and up” group, which is similar to what “we saw with adults,” said Dr. Loethen. “So we know they're very safe and protect a lot of children, not only on the individual level, but also on the population level.”

“I completely understand if parents have hesitations about any new medical device, drug, vaccine that their child is potentially eligible to get,” she said. “That is completely natural to be hesitant about those things.

“What I can say is we have studied thousands of kids and hundreds of thousands have now gotten this vaccine,” Dr. Loethen added. “We know that it's safe and effective. And when you look at the numbers, it certainly supports the vaccine because of its safety and efficacy against COVID 19.”

Leslie Sude, MD, a Yale Medicine pediatrician, says opening vaccination to this younger group is yet another way to manage the pandemic to make everyone safer.

“While a significant proportion of the population was not eligible for vaccination, there was still the opportunity for widespread circulation of COVID among children, who could then keep transmitting it to older people,” she says. “And as long as the virus spreads from person to person, the virus can keep changing and evolving into new variants.”

    In case you still wondered:

Higher-Dose Ivermectin vs Placebo and Time to Sustained Recovery in Outpatients With COVID-19

Findings In this double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled platform trial including 1206 US adults with COVID-19 during February 2022 to July 2022, the median time to sustained recovery was 11 days in the ivermectin group and 11 days in the placebo group. In this largely vaccinated (84%) population, the posterior probability that ivermectin reduced symptom duration by more than 1 day was less than 0.1%.

Meaning These findings do not support the use of ivermectin among outpatients with COVID-19.

Notice how you got a funny emoji from one of the usual dolts. A Yale trained pediatrician? Screw that, they clearly don’t know what they’re talking about, lol. John Hopkins University studies showing it’s safe and effective? Pffft, what do they know? Jesus these people are pathetic, lol. Hilarious that they think they know more than a friggin’ Yale trained pediatrician.

I applaud you for your stamina. You've provided countless legitimate sources of information, not to mention an exceptional patience. I'm wondering, though, at what point do you believe that these efforts will reap fruit? I also wonder if you realize how your interactions are feeding an infantile desire for attention.

Love the keyboard cowboys who think doctors can't be wrong LOL. Fauci was wrong for most of covid but you still think his crap don't stink. You keep being a lapdog like you've been for 3 years, the rest of us will follow the science.

It takes a special blend of stupidity and hubris to watch a YouTube video and declare yourself smarter than the entire medical community. But here we are.

Yeah, those same doctors were recommending Vioxx, Fen-Phen and countless other drugs that "somehow" made it thru FDA approval only to be pulled. You keep being a sheep. You are good at it. Keep masking up Sport! Can't be too careful!

The UK recommends vaccines for all 12 and older. Why? Because, "a course of vaccine will provide good protection against severe illness and hospitalisation." Kids 5 and older are eligible.

Germany too recommends vaccines for all 12 and older. So does Italy.

Must be a bunch of kook doctors all over c the western world!

Oh and since you follow all doctors, here are some you don't listen to:

Dr. Martin Kulldorff, professor of medicine at Harvard University, a biostatistician, and epidemiologist with expertise in detecting and monitoring infectious disease outbreaks and vaccine safety evaluations.

Dr. Sunetra Gupta, professor at Oxford University, an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, vaccine development, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor at Stanford University Medical School, a physician, epidemiologist, health economist, and public health policy expert focusing on infectious diseases and vulnerable populations.

    Too funny.
