Agreed, my brother. It was horrifying. And the LSU game.....I personally blame Toney for costing us that one. I was 10 rows behind the LSU bench and watched their offense just come off the field, laughing after a TD, cause we could not disguise our coverages. It was shameful. SOOOO glad Toney AND Peagler are adios.

With his resume, where he’s not going to get a DC job anywhere else of significance.

Omg…I want to laugh, but it’s just too painfully true. Have my upvote.

Colbert, our WR coach, coached tight ends at USC.
It would make sense to have him coach both and bring O'Hara on as a full time QB coach.

    97th is more like it.
The Gators ranked No. 129 of 131 FBS teams in third-down conversion percentage allowed,
No. 87 in scoring defense and No. 97 in total defense, the second-worst mark in the SEC,
    last season.

Known to him, apparently. If he’s limiting his pool to people he’s worked with and not interviewing the best possible candidates out there, he’s doing the university a disservice.

My only question about hiring Armstrong is are the other more experienced defensive coaches on staff ok with being passed over and not promoted up?
Could this cause a ripple effect?

Is William Peagler gone too? If so we need UGA's TE coach. :D

    Toney is gone.

    And, so is Peagler.

It’s interesting how often a coach who doesn’t get good results ends up moving on and doesn’t get fired.

    NOT Peagler....(said with sarcasm).

Looks like our offseason wishes are coming true.

I'm retired after 32 years in the Federal government and it works the same way there.
Florida expected to hire Austin Armstrong as defensive coordinator

Toney sucked. If we had an average D we win 2-3 more games and Napier doesn't have a target on his back.

Billy strikes me as the type of head coach that will depart with coaches in this manner. Rather than firing them publicly (then letting them find a job), he let's them find a job (while having their replacement already in hand).

Or maybe Toney and Peagler just had a chance to jump the NFL and took it. Who knows?

He did wait until our recruiting class was signed, sealed and delivered. So that's a good move, IMO.

Average defense would be about three steps up from where we were. Peagler and Toney with pitiful results get a big offer. AR has a bad (yes it was) year and will go top 10 this year. Does the NFL think we are winning endless SEC championships in Gator football and they need to raid our program for talent? Maybe Im living in an alternate reality where the defense sucked ass all year and the QB was giving it 50% and needed a couple more years of development.

Id rather not be pissed about a lost year and walk around with a 2022 Gators SEC champions hat....but when Morpheus offered me the red pill and the blue pill I took the red one.

I remember "critiquing" those two coaches in particular along with other people and less than a hand full of posters here said we were complaining about our coaches... Lol.

We were right all along... vindicated!
