Portal would answer all of that. My guess is no one is ever going to have that situation again. I was more worried that rashada would be here, and then layaway would go somewhere else.
Not if Rashada's contract was multi year. Why would he possibly leave to go somewhere else and make a fraction of that money? It would be quite a gamble. And the NIL deals cannot be linked with peformace/play in any way. If they could have a clause that said "if you are the starting QB, this is your deal...", that could presumably wash out the busts. But that's why these NIL deals will burn up eventually. 2-3 years from now there are going to be multiple BUSTS sitting the bench making 7 figures yearly. No way that lasts. None.
Because contracts are meant to be broken, and some other school would likely give him a good enough offer to get him to transfer. None of these kids with NFL dreams want to ride the bench, even if they are getting paid. I agree, and that's why I don't believe the figure that was being tossed around for Rashada. Well, just one of many reasons why I don't believe the $13+ mil is anywhere close to accurate, nor do I believe these NIL "contracts" are truly airtight for either side.
Needs to be more public outrage for this crap. Actual Game play feels too short for me as it is. Total garbage to try and run clock as much as possible as a reasonable solution to long games when we all know it's the commercials that are the problem. What would make more sense? Run clock at all times now OR take away TV timeouts? Personally I wish they would stop the clock more and just run banners like soccer does instead of interrupting game play. Soccer has it right in that regard.
But it's Sankey to the rescue with his 100% SEC "eggs" in one basket support for ESPiN. What a freaking CLOWN THAT man is.
One of those subjects about which I will rant at great length, while annoying everyone in the room, is that the anonymous "character concerns" chatter during draft season is legitimately disgraceful and we shouldn't accept it. If you're going to say a player has character concerns, you need to bring receipts and specifics -- you can't just make vague accusations based on anonymous sources and call it a day.
APK may correct me but I feel like he mentioned his recruitment with Georgia went very differently than it did with Florida. Not that there were character issues but that it wasn't above board. I didn't pry because I don't expect people who may know inside information to leak what or how they know. Just make a mental note and move on.
I’m against shortening the game. The game is what coaches, players, fans, and media invest in. Without the fans there would be no game and no media and all sports couldn’t be funded. Here’s an idea: Shorten the Commercials.
And every time the game is shortened, the offensive stats/records are affected. Fewer plays = fewer yards, TDs, etc. Which are the things fans tend to like to see the most. And it also makes it harder to compare stats (offensively or defensively) year over year.
Or just do a split screen a couple times in first half only. Game keeps going on the left, commercial on the right side.
WOW! I don't know anything about Armstrong, but it's hard not to be excited about the prospect of a new DC.
Idealistic, but not gonna happen as I don't think this is even considered. They keep adding games and with the 12-team playoffs along with playing in Hawaii and a conference championship, a team could play up to 18 games. That along with all these tempo offenses will blow up the record books anyway.
Just guessing but based on the profile photo, I wonder if maybe he just lost what I presume is his grandmother.
