I sense an outsized angst from you, that I demure from the going psychoses, Stay Home, Save Lives and Stand With Ukraine, etc. In any case, I find it amusing, this perception I’M the close-minded party in these parts.

Centering on viruses here, I never thought to question their existence. I didn’t know anyone who did. Now I find the notion of human beings as disease vectors bereft outlandish in the extreme.

Rejecting virology was like leaving a cult. And the reception I get, on threads like this, is akin to former cult members questioning my sincerity and my willingness to change my mind - all over again - even as they spew the regurgitated tractarianism that led me to leave their fellowship.

I’m beginning to think you miss the irony.

Thank you for the response. You "demure" ? Perhaps you meant demur? In any case your objections seemingly stem from your own angst, evident in the frequency of your posting. And as for irony? What's to miss as there is plenty to be found on this forum.

And just like that, there you are, hovering, to excise my superfluous ‘e’, while reducing my jeremiads to issues with posting frequency, as you add to your own posts count.

I’ve left the fold and am engaged in the little that I can to call others out.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, a very good destruction of the "Cochrane Study" and explanation of "Yes, stupid, masks work to slow the spread of respiratory infections, including SARS-CoV-2". Sad that people need to continue to even have to publish what is obvious to anyone with any common sense.

I don't care or count how often you post, though I do recall you had a prodigious number of posts in your previous incarnation as Dreamliner. And to be clear my actual number of posts is tens of thousands less than appears on under my name and avatar on the left side of my posts. As a good natured joke some years ago Growl boosted my post count to 50,000. At the time it was around 7200 as best I recall.

I have an excuse for my post count. I was on this site before they started putting face masks on football helmets.

There were over 7,000 cardiac instances in children in 2015. In kids under 18, 39% were sports related.

We aren't seeing an increase in instances. We're seeing an increase in reporting each instance that tricks us into believing there are more instances. But the data tells us these things happened before COVID and the vaccine. And aren't happening at higher rates.

    Derp derp derp indeed.

What’s your take on staggering excess deaths in early-vaccinating/highly-vaccinated countries ?

I got the vaccine the day after full approval was granted and got called a "granny killer" for waiting on the full approval.

So your post is spot on accurate. 100%.

Excess death in 2020 was due to COVID. Excess death in 2021 was due to COVID. The vaccine didn't become eligible to the masses in the US until late April.

Excess deaths in 2022 dropped as compared to 2021 because of the vaccine. Still, the cause of Excess deaths in 2022 was due to COVID. Many places, including the US, still have significant unvaccinated populations. Others with higher rates still see excess deaths because the vaccine isn't 100% against severe outcomes with COVID. Though it does lower your risk.

You do understand these things happen more frequently than you realize right?
They just didnt get publicized by the anti vax crowd before.

There are countless families shattered by endurance sport deaths long before Covid.

These anecdotes while tragic are not new and its frankly a terrible thing to politicize them as many attempt to do.

NFL and NBA athletes dropped dead on practice and playing fields well before Covid.
Ask the Celtics and Vikings. Sports leagues are nearly 100% vaccinated yet no deaths in any major sport or D1 NCAA level out of thousands of athletes.
