Imo, It would be better to play Aleks S. and Felder or Fudge that Jitobah. He can't move at all and is more of a liability at this point. Maybe he can get a little better with more minutes, but haven't seen anything to suggest that it will happen.
There may be some teams JJ can match up with, but he can't hold his own with a team like Arkansas. Unfortunately, most SEC teams have length and athleticism.
I thought we would lose this game even with Castleton at 100%. A disappointing loss imo because we played soft all night and even missed a wide open dunk.
Golden needs to recruit some top 50 kids to go with Kugel if Florida is going to compete in the SEC. Not sure many top guys left for next year. but i guess this can change after coaches leave or get fired in the offseason. Right now now I'm keeping Kugel, Richards, Alecks S, Fudge and I'd give Bonham a chance with another year under his belt. Huge offseason for Golden, but right now we're not looking too good for next year.
Man, that was an ugly 2nd half. Not sure JJ is up to the job. We'll see. Also not sure why Jones wasn't benched.
Aleks can shoot! he even got in the action with rebounding and trying hard on defense.I was impressed. he is not CC but he can stroke it and at least tries to play defense up close and personal. his footwork has improved since the start of the year. I love the heart in JJ, but he is not quick enough to cover the backside help when one of our small ballers loses track of someone driving inside. Felder just seems hesitant and is not in synch with this offense. So, I am with a little more German sniper and a lot more action! CC not once hit two three pointers in a row. All of the Hawg starters were in when he did this! Next year we need mobile hostile bigs that can score and rebound, 4 please!
Not sure I was going to add to the thread. I foresee one more win and that is all. They have to shoot the 3-ball to win. No CC means teams can play us closer outside. One more win may not get us into the NIT, especially if we are damaged goods.
My frustration with 3 pt shooting is all the forced shots. Riley got stopped from shooting a three wheels and deals and forces a short shot, misses. Alex was wide open close to him at the top of the key. We got no points and they go down and score. Jones dribbles to the outside can’t get anywhere just forces a highly contested three, Karoom! Of course they go down and score. Kowacie did this also and missed a slam dunk. This isn’t winning basketball.
