More info for what it is worth. Rylee looked very fast yesterday but they got to her a little bit the second time around. Maybe she doesn't throw enough off speed stuff. Lexie was dressed and throwing the ball around but she was wearing a boot. She will be needed when these games become really important. I'm done rambling now. Hope you all have a good super bowl day.
Yes, but at the same time, I'm sure we played a few teams last year that were plagued with the same issues.
Agreed. I think the five wild pitches/passed balls in one inning -- scoring two runs in the process -- was probably an NCAA record. CTW could have brought out Smiley and he would have gotten a hit.
That's true, but it was Michigan's first game under a new head coach. Their prior coach had been there for 40 years it seems like. And Michigan's not ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in a long time. Still, a good win for USF who is right now 2-2 and just starting a game vs. Boston College.
Question for you fans that go to KSP. I'm planning on going to Bubly on 3/11 to see the ladies play a double header against Mercer and Louisiana. Do I need one or two tickets to see both games?
It would be nice to be in a tourney with the caliber of the Clearwater event teams, rather than facing opponents you'll beat 21-0. I'm not sure what you learn about your team from that. Plus it looked like those games were televised.
Here's the link for tickets for the T-Mobile tournament. It says that tickets for this tournaments are valid for all games for that day. https://www.ticketmaster.com/t-mobile-tournament/event/22005E2AE020C629?refArtist=K8vZ91723gf
Yeah, I saw that. I'm thinking the better the opponents the more prepped you are. I took a look at OK's preseason schedule. They are playing 4 tourneys with quality opponents. We are playing 2, if you rank the Ragin Cajuns up there.
I like a strong schedule as well....but ours is very strong and will certainly have them ready for anything they will see postseason
Schedule starts off pretty weak, IMO, but the West Coast trip takes it up a notch and the rest of the season puts our SOS up there with anybody. So, yes, by post season time these young ladies will be battle tested and ready.
Gator softball up to #3 after Week 1, as Oklahoma St. & FSU both took a loss. NCAA College Rankings and Polls - ESPN
Agreed! Next week is going to be very exciting playing the West Coast teams. If they can beat all of those teams, it could be a very special season (barring injuries, of course). Go Gators!
I think this team is very good but to have a "special season" so to speak, Lexie has to return and be as effective as last year less all the walks.......then look out.
Just an FYI - Last season the Gators hit 37 home runs in 68 games. This year we already have 8 in 4 games. Coach Walton said that increasing power numbers was a major offseason priority.
