That’s sounds about right but what does a cupcake generate compared to lsu coming to the swamp. I know the cupcake tickets are basically free and LSU is anything but. I’m paying for scalped tickets no doubt but face value is still much more than a cupcake. Money is the bottom line right? And of course padding records to make it seem better than it really is. Imagine our record without the cupcakes.
So, you wish the Gators had a worse record? Is that what you're saying? I don't know about you, but I like WINNING. I don't understand why you hate one or two (at most) cupcake games so much. If you need every game to be a premier matchup, stick to the NFL. With 130+ D1 schools out there, it makes ZERO sense for us to make our schedule tougher than it already is. I explained earlier why an early season cupcake is good for everyone. If you don't like it, don't watch.
I don’t watch the garbage games often and don’t take the free tickets for them either. Vandy is enough of a tuneup and there are not even half of those 130 teams that should ever be on the field with real football programs. Just my opinion, watch predetermined games all you want. Putting sure wins to make us feel better doesn’t make me feel better. Beating Utah was fun and no tuneup needed. I just prefer real football games
A victory over an FCS cupcake is absolutely meaningless. If you get any enjoyment at all from that I dunno what to tell you. That Eastern Washington game last year must've really eased the pain of a crappy losing season.
I never like them. South Florida is pretty low and beating them proves nothing at this point. I’d love interesting games every week
Yes there is that chance that you lose to a complete non-football program, it does happen. But winning it means nothing. I prefer everybody to play tough games and not be have three or 4 undefeated teams every single season. The only thing matters is winning championships and it doesn’t matter how many losses you have
It's not about proving anything, it's about using them as a gimme to help our players get valuable PT and let our coaches work on some stuff in a real game. Even playing a weak opponent is a lot more helpful than a scrimmage against the same guys you go up against in practice with scripted situations. That's fair; we'll just have to agree to disagree. Personally, I don't like all the big schools from the big conferences cannibalizing one another. Remember all those years in the past when a G5 school would go undefeated and you had a bunch of folks crying that they deserve a shot at the title? It's only going to get worse now when you'll have 4-loss SEC teams in the running.
It’ll be fine with 12 teams. If you can’t make the top 12 convincingly, you don’t belong anyway. We can work it out with beating the bottom of the sec or we don’t have much to worry about anyway. Maybe the y could schedule some practice games against tge fodder but no need to pad 2-3 wins on a record that just makes us feel better. It’s embarrassing to me.
Playing those cupcakes allows those cupcakes athletes to actually playThat's how they fund the program, but getting beat by us .
Yep, pretty dumb system. If we need to, just send em the cash or they can cease to exist or pay their way like little kids do.
I like the 12 as there are many teams trying to actually compete. The 12th team is probably just as good as the 8th team many years. There will be three loss sec teams at the bottom of the twelve that’ll probably beat some of the TCU’s that go undefeated. No excuses if you can’t make 12. Also more games that players won’t sit on.
