They played the Clearwater Tourney,, game I was watching said 30-35 mph winds.. didnt notice once any afffect. Strange decision
Someone please explain this. Shows how little I follow softball but I have never heard of a ball game being called due to wind. Are they worried the pitchers are going to hurt somebody? Its such a short distance to home I'm surprised the ball could move that much. I used to play lots of slow pitch softball and the wind made the game more interesting especially for the pitcher.
I don' think it was the wind. UF is close by and USF & UF arranged to make up Sunday's game via a doubleheader in Gainesville on 4/19. USF was scheduled to play St. Joseph's and Illinois St. Saturday evening after the UF/Illinois St. game. It started raining Saturday after the UF/Ill. St. game and so those 2 USF games games were moved to Sunday, except Illinois St. was scratched in favor of Boston College. Maybe Illinois St. had travel arrangement and BC could stay around. Accommodations were made for the northern teams, which makes sense. USF played St. Joseph's starting at 10 am today and won 4-0. They then played Boston College, starting somewhere around 12:30, losing that game 5-4 in 9 innings. That was it for the tournament.
