15th game for Florida shooting under 30% for 3.

Turnovers second most for a game this year at 28.

Out-Rebounded 33-45 . . . and offensive rebounds down 11-22.

 

Last season was an anomaly. Unfortunately, this is just what Florida WBB is. Great work SS.

 

Last year we had way less talent so i’m confused on how we play worse this year with more talent

 

Let the media and players push him to make the decision he made.

 

I can't say what I want to without getting dinged. lol

 

We lost a transcendent star in Kiara and a player who would have been our best player this year in Zippy. We have Jordyn out much of this year and seven other players were also on last year’s team so I can’t see how this team has more talent than last year.

 

how is this on SS, everyone was clamoring for him to keep Kelly Rae and I am betting my bottom dollar you are one of those people. We lost our PG before the season and yes we should have done a better job at getting another PG in this year. Rimdal is not the answer, neither is Rikards. It is obvious what the needs are but like TG with the mens team Kelly Rae has to determine who is necessary moving forward. We have a top 20 player coming in, and the PG transfer from Texas who is really good. But who else is necessary going forward because their is a real lack of fight right now on this team. Kelly Rae needs a post coach bad!!! She needs a really experienced asst, Plank was a big loss. Real lack of game changing adjustments are being made. It will be a real real struggle to even get a win to finish the season

 

on paper sure there is..but all the injuries and the lack of being able to get the PG transfer eligible killed us. Severe lack of chemistry this year for sure..but Kiki seems to have been the glue and we are using band aids instead this year.

 

Coaching experience matters. Who does she turn to on the bench for assistance and advice?

When you look at this performance, overall, what stands out for you and how this team moves forward to next week?

It's unfortunate. We just have to keep working hard. We have a group of competitors and have to compete together through times when things don't go our way. Hard work, and resilience, and learning, and us as coaches teaching, is the solution and unfortunately that takes time.

Did you sense the frustration build in that 4th Quarter? When you get frustrated against a Georgia team they turn you over at a high rate. Did you sense some of those turnovers were a factor of the frustration because of shots not going down?

Yeah . . . I'd like to make an excuse for us but we don't do that. Not making shots is not an excuse. We need to see the floor, read the defense, put the ball where it needs to go, balance the floor, and make HARD cuts. Continuing to do your assignment when things aren't going your way is really important and that's how you get back in a game. That's the most important thing in getting back in a game and unfortunately we weren't able to move well together in the 4th quarter.

Defensively, how do you evaluate your team right now and how you're playing defensively?

Better. Better. Our first rotations are better. A couple weeks ago first rotations weren't even good. Just giving up that 3rd and 4th effort. In order to compete and put yourself in position to win in the SEC, your 3rd and 4th efforts have to be your best efforts. That's where you make plays. Your plays won't come on your first efforts. Growing and understanding that is key.

If you look at the offensive rebounds . . . was it a matter of where the players were positioned? Were they going after 50-50 balls harder? How do you evaluate the rebounding numbers today, and what you saw, and how that played out?

Early rebounding is key. We got caught a half a second behind the play. That's something that can't happen. We have to understand the pace and the effort that's required within the play.

 

I love this team but they really are a horrible team. I am not sure what the problem is....coaching? players? play calling? All of it. They keep shooting 3s and keep missing, I don't understand the constant substitutions, terrible passing, missed layups. I really can't watch anymore.

 

We're glad to have you with us @gatorgirl83 . . . Don't give up. This is a tough year for sure but they're fighting through a learning curve with a team that has been constantly changing due to all sorts of injuries. @bigigator15 nailed it pretty well in Post #51 above.

 

The 5 star recruit coming in has to dominate early and they need a good player from the portal. Team not athletic enough with the departures and injuries. Not enough depth

 

I dont know about dominate, but we need a healthy group for sure. But last few years we have not been very healthy. Maybe a change in training needs to be done?If Zippy comes back and the PG from Texas is playing then we have some very good players to work with. I like Kyle at center but with lack of shooting it is easy for her to get double teamed. I like LC a lot, but she has not been the same since her injury..Jordyn is not the same since she came back. I think we have a core of 5 or 6 we can work with then after that lets get some others in.
