Florida Legislature expands Ron DeSantis' program to fly migrants to blue states

to support a political agenda staged by Desantis and his Republican "pass all he wants" legislators. By virtue of his desire, we residents are forced to support what is basically kidnapping of people that he finds undesirable!
What form of government does Florida observe? This is very wrong! In a state where low pay is the normal, where insurance costs make homeowning less desirable and this is the focus. Drag shows, Disney, Censorship and spending money for Desantis personal political resume. This is how the country views all Floridians!...embarrassing!

I agree with your point, but let's remember these measures only resolve the potential illegality of the stunt in terms of Florida law for use of public funds. They do not immunize or make legal the deceptive quasi-kidnapping of these human beings

For all you know, Ron could have saved you or some one close to you by doing this.
Some people don’t know when someone is trying to help.

for what he pai dhe could have bought them housing and provided them a car to get to work in places that have such low unemployment that stores are closing for lack of $20 per hour retail employees. Our UE is 2.2%. We need all the workers we can get. If only we had millions of hard working people trying to come help with our labor problem, we might find a solution...

Literally every taxpayer is involuntarily paying for things they hate and disagree with and find morally reprehensible.

You're just now figuring it out?

While past is no indication of current conditions, immigrants, in general, commit less crime than citizens. And generally have a higher workforce rate as well.

Also, many of these immigrants walked hundreds, if not thousands of miles to get here, leaving behind crime, poverty, and desperation. If they wanted to do criminal things, why come here, when they could commit crimes back home and have a much lower possibility of being caught?

That is certainly true. To me, the notable thing about what he did was taking migrants which weren't in Florida to another state that also wasn't Florida. At least according to the article, the new bill will allow him "to relocate migrants elsewhere from any state in the country, not just from Florida." If he already had the power to do that previously, I'm not sure why this bill is necessary or what it changes - but maybe it's a tacit concession that he didn't have the authority to do what he already did.

No, this legislation allows the state to pick up people in Texas or anywhere else. The reason they did that is because there were questions of its legality when it was people outside of the state they were transporting, so the they are bailing out DeSantis and his stunt. As far as I know, the migrant flights initiated by DeSantis have been mostly people not living in Florida, he wanted in on Abbott's game.

Oh man, I really like that your an optimist. I try to be about many things. But you seem to paint the picture of only sunshine and rainbows.
Sorry, that’s not a very responsible way to view strangers entering our country.

he is consistant in his spiel, ie immigrants commit less crime, guest work visas are the panacea for the crapshow at the border, over and over and over.

Because that is literally why they came here. Most are families. They weren't even here, they were in Texas. So what does he do? He makes them take a pit stop in FL. WTH?? Such an embarrassment.
