    Modern Republican figures are performance artists, not politicians. That's why this lady, Lauren Boebert, Candace Owens, Tomi Lahren, Melissa Carone, etc. all started out as "models". To use the Republican term, they're crisis actors.

    values != interests

    A drug addict values their next bump, but it isn't in their best interests.

    She's nuts. Campaign ads aired here showing her claiming to a bunch of mouth breathers that the 2020 "election" was rigged. (I put election in quotes because the US does not have ONE election for POTUS, but over 3000: one in every US county.) She owes her seat to Dear Leader's gerrymandered Congressional map.

    Ok, who cares who's fault it is? People just see fingerpointing. Its just another example of a dysfunctional government not being able to help people or improve their lives, which is probably more how normal voters view it.

    And “Democrats think they know better than you do what’s good for you” is about the easiest election imaginable to run.

    I’m not a big fan of unchecked populism, but “you poor fool, can’t even see that Uncle Government knows best” is the boogie man you’re giving a lot of the politicians you despise to successfully run against.

    Whether its the Republicans fault or Joe Manchin's fault the only response Dems have is "vote for more Dems and maybe you will get something ... eventually" Some people understand that eventually will (probably) never come. Maybe the rubes are the ones that think if people just voted right, good things will happen in this country. Cant be the system!

    This is premised on the idea that you know what is in these people's best interests. To be clear, I think the Republican Party does jackshit to actually help people. But these people believe their best interest is stopping "the left" from "grooming" or "indoctrinating" their kids or allowing "babies" to be killed or enacting "socialized healthcare."

    I have my frustrations with the Biden administration and the Democratic Party more generally, but the idea that we've gotten nothing ignores the facts. We haven't gotten anything close to everything I'd want, but that's how things tend to be. The federal government moves at a glacial pace.

    If that were true, Republican would be easy to beat… aside from the big issues like forced birth and who you are allowed to marry, we got a guy here in Florida trying to control our lives right down to what books kids are allowed to read…

    Yes, that's the whole point, you've been conditioned to accept the things you want cant be done except maybe at some imaginary point in the future where everything aligns that may never come. What gets you to vote then? That the Republicans are worse, which is objectively true, so its not even a lie, but it pretty much means the Dems have to do very little, which as it turns out, very little is what the system is designed to deliver anyone that isnt a wealthy donor.

    If people want things to get done, they need to start voting like it.

    So she is also the one who is embroiled in the witchcraft accusations coming from her fellow right wingers. She sounds like a real winner and perfect for today's GOP. Maybe she and George Santos can have a baby together and maybe that baby can one day become president of the MAGA States of America.

    Except that their vote is also attacked routinely, both trying to make it harder to vote on the front end, and ignoring democratic outcomes once completed. And that doesn't even take into account things like gerrymandering and campaign-finance. The undersigned does every single thing you can to undermine democracy. And they have complete control of one branch of government that is trying to actively intervene everywhere they can maintain right wing power without principle or limitations. I am referring to the US Supreme Court.

    So what should the Dems have done these last 2 years to push through a Medicare for all system? Is it just because we a 'conditioned' into believing it can't be done?

    That might work in places where a system is responsive to popular will and didnt actively check democratic impulses from top to bottom, but we live in the USA

    Medicare for all? They couldn't even push through things that would help them win the kind of elections they would need to get a vote on M4A at some point in the future, popular things like ending gerrymandering or protecting voting rights. They couldn't even push through a vote on reforming the debt ceiling to avoid the looming showdown everyone knew was coming. Like forget doing things, the system cant even prevent preventable crises. Cant even pass things like background checks on guns that poll at like 90% approval.

    They got plenty done given the circumstances. What would you have done to get background checks passed during the last 2 years?
