    From the article:
"A group of House Republicans is calling for an immediate halt of US aid in Ukraine, arguing that such support for the country's defense in the face of Russia's invasion is "inadvertently contributing to civilian casualties."

We cant try to stop a country from taking another country by force! People might get killed! We should just let people get killed and not do anything. This is a much better approach. Once Russia kills everyone they don't like, things will be fine. Trust me.

We should keep the weapons coming so as to ensure that the people we’re purporting to help will perish in greater numbers.

That's a perspective thing. Russian leadership still very much considers the states that were part of the soviet union to be it's rightful territory. While much of the rest of the world may not agree the only opinion that really matters is the one backed by enough force to make it's opinion reality.

Currently Russia is successfully reclaiming it's territory, no matter how slowly and costly the operation is, so at the moment it is their perspective that is winning.

One "movement" was by an invitation to join the group with no foreign boots on the ground. The other movement was with guns blazing and foreign troops driving tanks into another country. I think a squirrel could figure out the difference.

Bombshell Report Alleges US Behind Sabotage of Nord Stream Pipeline (townhall.com)

A bombshell report by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersch alleges specialized U.S. Navy diving teams were responsible for blowing up the underwater Nord Stream pipelines that supplied Russian gas to Western Europe.

While U.S. officials say the report, published on Substack, is “completely and utterly false,” Hersch says his source has “direct knowledge of the operational planning.”

He explains the plot, allegedly ordered by the White House:
Two of the pipelines, which were known collectively as Nord Stream 1, had been providing Germany and much of Western Europe with cheap Russian natural gas for more than a decade. A second pair of pipelines, called Nord Stream 2, had been built but were not yet operational. Now, with Russian troops massing on the Ukrainian border and the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945 looming, President Joseph Biden saw the pipelines as a vehicle for Vladimir Putin to weaponize natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions. […]

Biden’s decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington’s national security community about how to best achieve that goal. For much of that time, the issue was not whether to do the mission, but how to get it done with no overt clue as to who was responsible.

Next on Russia's list: Moldova. Ukraine and Moldova have apparently uncovered a plot for Russia to take over Moldova that is similar to what happened in Ukraine. Russia's foreign minister Lavrov hinted that this might be the case, when he accused the West of backing a pro-western candidate. Lavrov blamed the west for turning Moldova "into another Ukraine". So for our pro-Russian comrades, having a pro-western candidate get elected to a democratic country near Russia is justification enough for little Hitler to invade.

The differences between Hitler and Putin and getting smaller by the day:

Invades neighboring countries to build or rebuild an empire? Check.
Claims to need "living room" or buffer states from other countries? Check.
Runs torture centers and/or gas chambers? Check.
    Indiscriminate bombing of civilians? Check.
    Violates Geneva Convention? Check.
    Commits war crimes? Check.
Grows short mustache? No check. Apparently, the little mustache is all that stands between Putin becoming Hitler.

So remember, comrades, you are backing the new Hitler. Does that make you feel hip? Are you a counter-cultural icon now? Can I get a Zig Heil?

Zelenskyy: Ukraine caught Russian plan to 'destroy' Moldova

None of those actions would be directly threatening to Russia. That is like justifying war by saying that "this country is planning on taking up chess and teaching it in the schools! Only Russians can play chess!"

Notice how the tone has shifted from “LOL, Russia’s s***ting the bed!” to “Grrr, Russia’s not going to stop at Ukraine. Next it’s going to take over Moldova!”

I don’t think 11 is worth concern. If you look hard enough in a Congress of 535, you can find 11 who would categorically ban private firearms, completely ban abortions in all circumstances, grant reparations for slavery, eliminate the Senate, institute summary capital punishment for drug possession, and every other extreme position you can imagine. That’s why we have so many of them to check the worst impulses of the most extreme elements. I don’t even worry about the NATO allies jumping ship, since they have so much more to fear from a Russian strategic victory. I far more fear the Biden Administration losing stomach for the fight if and when Russia goes back on the march in force this spring.

Nope. That’s been the time since the beginning, since that is part of the Russian expansionist goal. It is the precise reason why we are aiding Ukrainian.

    For all I know, Biden
... which is precisely the reason why thousands of Ukrainians continue to die unnecessarily.

I guess you can always make the argument that many more Ukrainians would be alive today if Ukraine had capitulated to Putin as would have been the case had the former president been reelected and yes he was a Russophile.

False dichotomy. It was never a matter of Russia taking over Ukraine. But I think you know this.
