Remind me which came first with regard to the McClain recruitment. That's when Ruiz interfered with a player we had locked up.

But yeah, I think up front cash may have won out with the O-lineman and other players we recruited against them for.

If that's your opinion, I can live with that. We did after all doge those two head cases... so, we did get lucky with missing out on those two. But I think they might have dropped some bags to keep their O-line recruits locked up.

Of course they did, too players aren’t going to losing programs for free when they could go to winners and still get paid.

Yes and no. It’s always about the money no matter what the topic. There are the excepts in life but follow the money will always provide the answer. The illusion is gone. The teams that spent the most have always dominated.

A few highlights from that article:

"The $4.5 million figure just accounts for money schools spent bringing recruits to campus or putting coaches on the road, as well as all the associated costs therein."

"The recruiting expense totals in the latest NCAA reports cover transportation, lodging and meals for recruits and school personnel on official and unofficial visits for a period that, for most schools, covered July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. It also accounts for phone charges and postage for pursuing recruits and the value of school’s vehicles and planes or those used by the school for recruiting."

"Florida has beefed up its football support staff under coach Billy Napier. It spent $1.64 million on football recruiting in 2022, up from $1.27 million in 2019. Its football support staff pay total for 2022 was $7.3 million; its previous high for this category was $4.7 million in 2018."

It shows how much they’re all in on championship or bust. At some point soon I hope we’re the reason they start to fall off

The top few definitely have a financial advantage built in too. It’ll cost more to get a player to a school that hasn’t been making the playoffs and winning titles.

Not sure it was patience giving him the time. Financially, they were tethered together... win, lose, or draw.

Now his bar is raised. We shall see if they can sustain AND/OR improve?

Should not be a shock. New DC doesn't want the players looking to Strong when he is the DC and trying to coach them.
