So, we are to believe that even though Joe can hardly finish a sentence, he directed the Surveillance to increase and that is how we detected this balloon and then they went back and discovered that for several years China had been sending balloons, but our surveillance system never caught them. So Thanks Joe????
Why were we so rattled by a balloon ? China probably already knows who the second QB Billy Napier is targeted in the portal.
I suspect shooting it down over Montana would have killed no one. Just about as likely as hitting a person in Montana as hitting a person in a boat I. The Atlantic
The debris field was 1500 square meters bringing it down the way we did in fifty feet of water. They didn't want to take the chance. I assume recovery might have been harder as well. The Coast Guard had cleared the area of boats. Some excellent photographs of the recovery here, too. https://www.newsnationnow.com/politics/pentagon-details-chinese-spy-balloon-debris/
I bet they don’t fly over the length of China, at least not while known by the CCP (balloons, not spy planes)
No, I said lie about that. The Pentagon's assessment of the situation makes far more sense than yours.
It might. My assessment is that we project weakness when we allow violations of our airspace. Maybe that assessment is wrong. Seems to me it sets the precedent that China can do whatever they want now and know what the response from the top is going to be. China is playing the long game. This was a calculated move. They didn't just "lose" a weather balloon, in my assessment.
I could see them lying about it if they wanted to see how it behaves and what it does and does not do while over the US. If we had it jammed it wasn’t a threat, so why not collect as much info as possible?
What are we projecting when we have no idea they are spying, like under Trump when this place was a balloon parade?
On another note, I just read that the Chinese want their ballon back. I wonder if they are negotiating with Hunter Biden on it's safe return to China. 10% to the big guy is one of Hunter's requests. China wants its downed spy aircraft back, saying it 'does not belong to the US'
