I can't help but believe Mr. R was stirring the pot against our interests somehow or another.

 

I could live with a final ranking of #3 with 25+ signee's in Feb 24!

 

I have been involved with countless contracts prepared by attorneys. They all say “draft” or “For negotiation purposes only.” They are not contracts (ie binding) unless signed, treated as signed (equitable) or verbal (requires actual agreement).

If there was an agreement for $13.85M, I’d sure expect a lawsuit by now to enforce it. And with Rashada backing out, that shows either he is also not completing his performance requirements under any contract or there was never an agreed upon contract.

Hell, maybe this contract was from the Rashada camp and blew up negotiations? All in all, what seems very clear is that the UF side and Rashada never had a binding agreement.

 

For my own personal reasons based on the rapid (De)-Evolution of everything in College Football I have come to the concusion that the traditional "bump class" for UF will occur in recruiting cycle #3, as compared to the traditional "year two" bump class.

I suspect many will agree that a GREAT 3rd class is literally a
pre-requisite for the program and CBN. IMO his fate and employment with UF could very well depend on it, ESPECIALLY since the pre-season prognosticators have UF pegged at or near the bottom of the SEC East and the SEC in general for next season.

If that scenerio is in fact true, I would not want to be in Napiers seat should a 11th - 15th ranking pop up again.

 

I just have a hard time counting CBNs first class, since he had like 30 days if that till ESD. And he still did a hell of a job considering he essentially cleaned out the current commits of that class and restocked with who he wanted, and still landed a 5 star. But yeah a month to build relationships in a recruiting ground like Florida is a tough pull and hard to compare to a standard full season recruiting class.

 

I don’t know why they needed to be a sports bra instead of a tank top, or any other article of clothing, but that’s what they’re for and everyone is using them now.

 

I basically agree with what your post says, Gatorhead, but I view our class this year as much better than the ranking assigned to us by Rivals, 247, or On3.
Our composite rating is 6th best in 247’s poll and 3rd best in Rivals. Had we signed 5 or 6 more 3 stars we would have actually jumped in the rankings yet our composite would be lower, it my understanding of the ratings are correct.
I would much rather have the quality over quantity especially in view of our circumstances. We addressed needs even though we didn’t hit all of them.
We knew BN would have to hit the portal for immediate help at linebacker and OL and he did well in that regard. Also came up with a QB who just might be our starter this year. (Im not counting Miller out).
I also am ecstatic about having 20 of our recruits enrolled and available for Spring practice. That’s a stat not figured into the ratings. I would add that this seems like a high character class too, but time will tell in that regard.

 

Thanks 2old - I agree with you there, quality over quantity but I am looking forward to UF cracking that elusive "top 50" crowd and grabbing the Tebows and Harvins.

I have read enough recruiting metrics to finally understand that without a few of those 5 star types, it's really, really tough to bring home SEC or Playoff hardware.

 

I would be very happy with our class this year and next year (so far) combined. That’s how you win championships. Our class last year with a few 5 stars at positions of need.

 

Over/Under on the number of "rights?".

 

It might just be brilliant if they are able to link their brand and tech with a unique and easily identifiable garment. At least on men.
